Job Requirements:

• PhD in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, or a related field with a focus on microbial applications in water treatment.
• Proven experience in microbial culture, strain isolation, and identification. Experience in scaling up microbial processes for industrial applications, optimizing bacterial cultures for large-scale operations, and working in compliance with industry standards will be considered highly advantageous.
• Hands-on experience with bioreactors and microbial-based water treatment processes.
• Strong understanding of microbial metabolic pathways involved in pollutant degradation.
• Proficient in water quality analysis and effluent treatment technologies.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting and presenting research findings.
• Experience in scaling up microbial processes for industrial applications.
• Familiarity with advanced molecular biology techniques, such as PCR and sequencing.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations related to water effluent discharge and treatment standards.

Duties

• Work with Research Fellow/s in the conducting of clinical research projects

• Processing and molecular analysis of patient blood and tissue samples

• Perform lab-based molecular work according to strict methodologies

• Optimizing and troubleshooting new experimental protocols

• Keep meticulous records of experimental work

• Coordinate laboratory operational activities through managing laboratory and sample inventories, establishing laboratory procedures and organization of laboratory consumables

• Work with Laboratory Safety Lead to ensure laboratory safety and maintain safety documentation and procedures

• Assist Research Manager in grant reports and organizing scientific meetings

Skills

• Proactive and able to work independently in a corporate as well as laboratory setting

• Work collaboratively with other research groups

The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU Singapore hosts research and education activities in two divisions: Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) and Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP). MAS covers diverse topics ranging from pure mathematics to the applications of mathematics in cryptography, computing, business, and finance. PAP covers many areas of fundamental and applied physics, including quantum information, condensed matter physics, biophysics, and photonics.

Established together with SPMS, the cryptography research group at the Division of Mathematical Sciences is world leading. Over the years, SPMS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.

Position Available: Research Fellow (Cryptography)

To further enhance the research and education capability in cryptography, our department seeks an experienced researcher to carry out research in applications, and to help teach courses of our Master Program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support research in Cryptography including but not limited to Post-Quantum Cryptography, BlockChain, Privacy-Preserving Technologies
• Assist to supervise research students
• Support the Master of Science in Cyber Security Program, which is expected to take in 100 - 200 student per year
• Carry out research, publish papers, help the team to supervise research students

Job Requirements:

• PhD in cryptography
• Experience in research publication at Tier-1 conferences
• Track-record of publications in IACR conferences/workshops
• Teaching experiences
• Postdoc experience will be a plus
