Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute, NTU is looking for a Research Fellow with expertise in chemical reactors to develop an improved prototype for a thermocatalytic process.

The project is funded by National Environment Agency, Singapore to address one of the largest problems in waste management – the problem of plastic waste pollution. A significant fraction of plastic waste has substandard quality for mechanical and chemical recycling even after sorting and cleaning. The Research Fellow will work on the design, fabrication and testing of a chemical reactor system that will use pyrolysis-chemical vapor deposition (CVD) technology for converting these plastic waste streams (specifically, contaminated and rejected plastics) into multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and hydrogen. The role of Research Fellow is to design a system prototype that can effectively mitigate the impact of impurities from diverse plastic waste streams on production outputs and can be operated in a continuous mode.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will be undertaking full research work and administrative duties during the term of employment within the following areas:

• Experimental work on plastic waste conversion into carbon nanotubes and hydrogen.

Our department is seeking to hire a responsible and talented Research Fellow (RF) to support research aiming to develop AI embedded methods and tools to facilitate the testing procedure of Continental products. This project needs the employee to apply computer vision AI techniques and learning algorithms to build toolkits that automatically generates complete architecture of test cases and corresponding labels, which will spend plenty of time in traditional manual testing. The RF is also involved in some academic works including, reinforcement learning, computer vision, and software testing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting the research in AI domains (e.g., reinforcement learning and image recognition), software testing, program synthesis
• Applying the developed research ideas and approaches to improve the software engineering process in Continental, especially software testing (automatic test case/plan generation)
• Conducting the research in combining AI techniques with formal methods techniques (especially program synthesis) to improve the explainability and robustness of AI models
• Participating in co-operation with Continental’s development team
• Interacting with Continental business units
• Developing and integrating AI algorithms into the real development progress
• Preparing academic publications such as pattern, research paper
• Contributing to seasonal and annual report writing and presenting

Job Requirements:

• PhD degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Software Engineering
• Strong background and research experience in artificial intelligence, software engineering, automatic testing, program synthesis
• Excellent background and experience in programming language, especially python
• Good communication and report-writing skills
• Strong responsibility for research and work

A Corp Lab in NTU is looking for a motivated Research Engineer to conduct cutting-edge research in the topic of “Green Cloud Computing”.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the data and model interface for the AI/Data Twin platform with IoT or BMS systems.

The successful candidate will work on experiments and numerical modelling of 3D breaking waves and wave-current interaction.
