What you will be working on
As a System Operation Support Engineer (Windows platform) with expertise on Active Directory, you are responsible for supporting critical business applications in a fast-pace, agile environment. This role requires you to be hands-on in Windows and Active Directory for planning, designing, implementation, administering, scripting, monitoring, and carrying out required changes to complete tasks/projects including to resolve incidents/problems.
The broad area of your responsibilities will include the followings:
- Plan, install, configure, and administer Windows systems in physical and virtual environment
- Plan, design, implement and administer Active Directory & DNS and related systems
- Serve as an escalation point for troubleshooting and issue resolution with regards to multi forest Active Directory systems and other Windows systems
- Implement, monitor, and maintain AD design, schema, OUs, replication topologies, group policies and DC backup & restore procedures
- PowerShell scripting and automation
- Work with other teams in AD Integration for a multiple forest Active Directory infrastructure
- Monitor critical systems and take corrective actions prior to failures
- Troubleshoot software or hardware failures to arrive at the root cause
- Perform regular system patching and upgrades to improve system posture
- Design solutions to technical problems and implementation of new systems or infrastructure changes
- Prepare written documentation and develop operating procedures for systems
- Participate in regular deployments of code updates activities
What we are looking for
- At least 4 years of relevant work experience in Windows and Active Directory systems
- Practical experience in OS hardening and performance tuning
- Technically competent in 5 or more of the following languages, tools and technologies:
i. AD/ DNS/ ADFS/ RDS configuration, administration, and monitoring include migration and upgrade
ii. PKI system
iii. Azure/ AWS Administration and Azure AD & AD connect
iv. Microsoft PowerShell scripting and other configuration management tools
v. Security methodologies such as JEA, JIT and delegation models
vi. Configuration Manager (SCCM) for deployment of OS and software, automatic patch deployment, asset and compliance management, etc
vii. Virtualization management and troubleshooting
viii. Network protocols such as TCP/IP, SFTP, HTTP/HTTPS, NTP, SNMP etc
- Professional certification in Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or ITIL would be preferred
- Self-motivated team player who demonstrates initiative and possesses strong analytical skill
- Ability to work beyond business hours and weekends for work contingencies where necessary
Seniority of appointment will commensurate with relevant work experience.
