We are seeking for a Big Data Engineer/Data Architect to join our dynamic data support team. This candidate will be responsible for various professional fields including big data, data warehousing, and data analytics, supporting the company's petabyte-level data services.

1. Maintain overseas data centers, including ensuring database stability and high availability, as well as stabilizing and optimizing the big data infrastructure;
2. Responsible for data-driven decision-making for overseas business, including the development and maintenance of real-time and offline metrics, closely collaborating with project teams for decision analysis;
3. Select and optimize the infrastructure of data centers, and communicate with third-party vendors;
4. Implement data security and privacy measures to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements;
5. Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in big data, machine learning, and data engineering, and evaluate their potential impact on our business and technical architecture.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field;
2. Strong command of the Linux operating system, with expertise in at least one scripting language such as Shell or Python;
3. Advanced proficiency in SQL language, coupled with extensive experience in performance tuning;
4. Expertise in mainstream databases including Oracle, MySQL, Redis, and MongoDB;
5. Deep familiarity with cloud platforms such as Alibaba Cloud, GCP, and AWS, along with robust troubleshooting skills;
6. Comprehensive understanding of mainstream big data technologies like Hadoop, Doirs, Starrocks, and Kafka;
7. Proficient in cloud-based big data solutions on platforms such as Alibaba Cloud, GCP, and AWS, with a proven track record in tuning and troubleshooting;

Roles and Responsibilities

• To perform all roles and responsibilities required of site supervisors under the Building Control Act
• To supervise the timely execution of the works and maintain quality control and ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the contract specifications, drawings, allocated timeframe, all other contract documents and site instructions
• To check all drawings and specifications to ensure that works are carried out in accordance with the approved plans for discrepancies and report to the Superintending Officer / Consultant / Qualified Person as stated below:
• Check shop drawings submitted by contractor.
• Check as-built drawings and Operation & Maintenance Manual submitted by contractor.
• To check on quality of materials and samples delivered to site and report to Superintending Officer / Consultant / Qualified Person on any materials that are not conforming to the specifications.
• To check mock-ups done on site, where necessary.
• To ensure that the required construction tests in connection with the construction works are carried out where necessary

Job Requirements

• Possess Diploma in Civil Engineering
• Registered Resident Technical Officer with IES / ACES
• Minimum 3 years experience as RTO in supervision of works similar in nature to major construction works in buildings, civil

Our client is one of the test laboratory companies.

1) Execute pre-test preparation tasks, including:

• Interpret DWO, its sample descriptions, its reference codes, the standard test methods requested, deviations from standard test method (if any) and acceptance criteria;
• Prepare draft reports / raw data sheets to Technicians;
• Cascade the instructions to the Technicians via draft reports / written instructions / Technique Sheets

2) Engage customers to build & maintain good relationships with customers, including:

• Understand customers' testing objectives;
• Advise customers if the acceptance criteria are reasonable;
• Advise customers on how to resolve issues with their processes.

3) Familarise and understand the tools used for the maintenance of quality in the laboratory:

• Participate in the preventive maintenance of departmental test equipment;
• Participate in the periodic monitoring and standardization/verification of departmental test equipment;
• Participate in the calibration of departmental test equipment.

4) Under heavy load, assist with the execution of tests, including:

• Carry out tests according to the written procedures;
• Provide adequate housekeeping while carrying out tests;
• Record raw data into worksheets / draft reports;
• Transcribe test results to official test reports;
• Recognise & escalate potential invalid test results;
• Assess & recommend test validity to the senior.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science or related Science Field
• 1 or 2 years of working experience in Manufacturing and QA/QC industries would be an advantage, i.e. industrial attachment, previous job
• Knowledge of ISO 17025 is an added advantage but not compulsory
