Seeking an experienced Texas BBQ chef who join our team. Decker Barbecue is an authentic Texas style restaurant serving up 12 hour smoked meats like Brisket,Pulled Pork, Pork Ribs and the beloved Wagyu Burnt Ends.
Duties Include:
-Trim and preparation meats in preparation for smoking.
-Preparation of ingredients for salads, sides, sauces.
-Following of strict kitchen recipes to ensure quality & consistency.
-Maintain a clean work area during and after service.
-Provides guidance to junior kitchen staff members, including, but not limited, to line cooking, food preparation, and kitchenhand.
-Ensures a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organised for quality assurance.
-Keeps cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours.
-Oversees and organises kitchen stock and ingredients
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years experience working with an off-set smoker, and proven butchery experience. This role is a 5 day work week with evening shifts.
