The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Senior Research Fellow position in Prof Brian Kennedy’s lab, part of the Department of Biochemistry and the Healthy Longevity Translational Research Programme, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Purpose of the post

The Senior Research Fellow (SRF) will be responsible to and work closely with Professor Brian Kennedy to provide support in research projects to advance the understanding of aging biology and age-related diseases, with a specific focus on identifying novel anti-aging compounds (drugs, natural products, metabolites, etc.) that can delay cellular aging and extend healthspan. Nuevocor’s Singapore R&D site is seeking to hire at the Senior Scientist level to expand our internal research capabilities. You will be joining a close-knit team and will be expected to lead projects. You will liaise closely with other company scientists and external collaborators and direct research associates.

Responsibilities

• Identify and validate novel cardiomyopathy drug targets
• Design, execute and troubleshoot experiments to develop gene therapy constructs for the treatment of genetic cardiomyopathies
• Document and interpret data to develop and improve experimental procedures
• Keep detailed and accurate records of experiments, data and analysis to support and protect intellectual property of the company
• Prepare and present scientific updates internally and externally

Qualifications needed

• PhD in Cardiac Biology, Cell and Molecular Biology, or related fields
