Trading & Shipping Operations for Oil Products
Key Responsibilities
1. Responsible for day-to-day trading operations for oil products trade, and aim to achieve operations performance timeliness, accuracy, efficiency and integrity.
2. Liaise timely and effectively with suppliers, buyers, ship owners/brokers, vessel operator, cargo
surveyors, cargo agent, insurance broker, and banks, maintain good relationships with
counterparties.
3. Manage domestic and international trade documents, including preparing trade contracts,
understand the legal provisions and INCOTERMS, and participate in the negotiation, modification
and determination of the terms of trade contracts.
4. Assist in managing shipping operations (including clearing vessels, sending voyage orders, liaising
with ship brokers for smooth logistic movements, monitoring discharge loss and settling freight
with owners and etc), handle shipping documents (including B/L, commercial invoice, packing list,
certificate of origin, surveyor certifications) independently, ensure all necessary financial security in
place prior loading /discharge.
5. Work closely with internal and external counterparties, assist with contract signing, executing
payment, transfer of cargo rights, invoicing, month-end reconciliation, following up on customer
payments.
6. Send related loss or demurrage claim to counterparties after deal completion, counter owner’s
demurrage claims where needed, and keep track of all demurrage or claim updates.
7. Familiar with the import and export business and the international trade process, able to review
and modify Letter of Credit, as well as make, review and submit documents under L/C.
8. Develop business ledger and update business data.
9. Carry out and support others duties assigned by the Company.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
1. Degree in any discipline, preferable with international trade, maritime transportation, shipping
background
2. Minimum 2-3 years of international physical trade operations experience for crude oil /oil products
3. Knowledgeable about international crude / oil products shipments, and familiar with trading
operation process and all kinds of trade related documents, including contract, Letters of Credit,
shipping documents, inspection and insurance documents, etc.
4. Experience in both cargo and shipping operations will be a plus.
5. Excellent numerical skills, especially in relation to contract amount
6. Able to demonstrate high level of trust, integrity and team work
7. Hardworking, able to operate well under pressure and work well in a fast-paced environment
8. Excellent communication skills, efficient and well-organized
9. Quick thinker, able to take responsibilities and take actions to solve issues arising from trade
operations with great efficiency
10. Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and software required for trading operations
11. Proficient in English and Mandarin (daily work involves constant communications with
headquarter and clients in China, and report written in Chinese).
