Scientist for Advanced Photonics (Photonic device and PDK development)

As part of IME’s Photonics & Sensors Department, the candidate will work on photonic device and PDK library development. This will include photonic device simulation, fabrication, characterization, optimization, and PDK development. You will work closely with an excellent multidisciplinary team working on photonics, electronics, semiconductor processes, integration, and fab operation.

Responsibilities:

• Design of passive and active photonic devices based on various 8-inch and-12 inch material platforms.
• Take the lead in designing integration flows to manufacture the designed devices.
• Develop automated electro-optic characterization systems for the designed and fabricated photonic devices.
• Characterize photonic devices and perform design optimization to meet the required device performance.
• Develop PDK for optimized photonic devices.
• Prepare presentations and papers for internal meetings, conferences and journals.
• Collaborate with the project team to ensure quality and on-time delivery for various projects. You will get a chance to be exposed to both industrial and academic projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• PhD in Integrated Photonics, Microelectronics, Opto-electronics, Physics or equivalent.
• Experience in one or more topics listed below is strongly preferred: Si photonics, SiN photonics, compound semiconductor photonics, photonic computing, quantum computing, LiDar, optical switch array.
• Strong hands-on experience in photonic device development or photonics integration.
• Strong hands-on experience in photonic simulation using various electrical / photonics design software.
• Strong communication, industry awareness, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong self-motivation and interest in the next-generation photonics technology development.

The selected candidate will work with a health economics team providing qualitative research method support to various research activities. They will be required to conduct interviews, focus groups and relevant qualitative analysis, mainly with patient groups, clinicians and healthcare stakeholders. The activities will be relevant to the evaluation of healthcare interventions and care models, including but not limited to:

• Interview clinicians and patient groups
• Manage protocols development for research projects and IRB applications.
• Develop interview guides, plan and conduct all relevant qualitative data collection activities.
• Use appropriate software to collect, manage and analyse qualitative data.
• Manage transcribing activities.
• Conduct literature reviews to find information for new research ideas.
• Assist in the preparation of evaluation reports for the health economics team.
• Extract data from existing databases and published literature.
• Manage projects from start to end with guidance (i.e. develop research objectives and study design, perform data extraction and data collation, conduct data modelling, perform analysis and engage and collaborate with various stakeholders).
• Assist in drafting research abstracts and manuscripts.
• Assist in the preparation of PowerPoint presentations to various stakeholders.
• Support the secretariat and administrative functions of the health economics team.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Public Health or other related fields.
• Minimum 1 year of working experience in Singapore’s healthcare setting
• Have experience with Singapore’s IRB applications
• Adept at collecting and working with qualitative data.
• Prior experience in various qualitative research methods and health services-related research will be advantageous.
• Proficiency with NVivo would also be an advantage.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently with limited supervision and in a team, with dynamic reporting lines and multiple stakeholders.
• Action-oriented, highly motivated, and target-focused.

The incumbent will act as one of the faculty liaisons at Science Dean’s Office for the Master’s programmes at the NUS Faculty of Science in response to the suite of Programmes’ rapid expansion. The dedicated person will help to ensure the smooth delivery of the sought-after self-financing programmes and ensure their service standard. By working with the Programme Managers, Programme Directors and the Deanery members at the Faculty of Science, he/she will manage the Programmes’ end-to-end administration including admission, programme management, alumni relations, and other related portfolios. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following -

• Work closely with both internal and external stakeholders for the overall administration of the Master’s programmes throughout the student lifecycle.
• Support the MSc programme operations lead to work with departments on various administrative responsibilities, including managing applications, enrolment processes, and maintaining student records.
• Facilitate the coordination and development of programmes, prepare regular faculty-level circulars and act as the secretariat for faculty-level postgraduate executive committee.
• Gather necessary teaching feedback information and perform data analysis for the Faculty to gain insights into the programme quality.

The Duke-NUS Laboratory for Translational and Molecular Imaging (LTMI), Duke-NUS Medical School, is recruiting a Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow specialising in Nuclear Imaging within the Immuno-Oncology domain.

The successful candidate will lead pre-clinical imaging efforts to validate novel imaging probes that target immune cell biomarkers. He/She will be responsible for the strategic planning, execution and communication of research. Candidates with strong records of scientific accomplishment in radiopharmaceutical sciences, immunology or related disciplines are encouraged to apply.

• Lead development of nude, syngeneic, and humanised mouse tumour models, with characterisation of immunophenotype with treatment response
• Collaborate on in vivo imaging strategies for pre-clinical characterisation of targeting probe specificity and sensitivity with PET/CT, SPECT/CT and/or optical imaging
• Monitor immune response to immunotherapies with longitudinal imaging assessments, supported with IHC, FACS
• Ensure regulatory compliance of research, including legal and ethical requirements
• Ensure timely reporting and presentation of study results to the team, and making appropriate decisions on data obtained from imaging studies
• Write and review research papers, and present at local and international conferences

Job Requirements

• PhD in Immunology/Radiopharmaceutical Sciences or related disciplines
