The Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) Cluster at Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) seeks applicants for a full-time lecturer or senior lecturer teaching-track position in the social sciences. We seek applicants from any of the social sciences (economics, sociology, anthropology, psychology, etc.) who have a strong background and interest in teaching classical and contemporary social science theory and methods. Successful applicants will teach in our team-taught introductory core course Social Science: Understanding Culture, Society and Behaviour. In addition, successful applicants will also teach 1 or 2 electives of their own design that contribute to our cluster’s teaching mission as a HASS cluster within an engineering and design university.

JOB SUMMARY:

Undertake detailed process and mechanical engineering for awarded projects to support the project execution teams and deliver profitable projects. At the same time, expect to support the proposal team on upcoming tenders on process and mechanical engineering. Provide process support to optimize and troubleshoot operating plants when required which will ensure lowest lifecycle costs and provide feedback for improvements in design.

• Establish, implement, maintain, and refine LEAN system methods, tools, and standards across all value stream sections.
• Support and lead LEAN work practices, including 6S methodologies and root cause analysis, to drive continuous improvement.

• Challenge conventional methods and assist business unit leaders in driving CIPs focused on waste elimination.
• Manage multiple CIPs and ad hoc projects simultaneously while adhering to project timelines.

Requirements:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a background in logistics
• Six Sigma (Black Belt) certification is advantageous.
• Demonstrated practical experience in LEAN, 6S, Standardized Work, Problem Solving, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and Kaizen, with evidence of delivering sustainable results through Continuous Improvement Projects (CIPs).

A Day in the Life

• Work with lead designer and design team in supporting design implementation.

• Liaise with clients on quotation and design

What We are Looking For
