ACCOUNTS EXECUTIVE / SENIOR ACCOUNTS EXECUTIVE / ACCOUNTANT (CORPORATE/VESSEL ACCOUNTING)

Position reports to:

Senior Finance Manager (Singapore)

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial reporting to Management
• Preparation and closing of monthly financial statements
• Responsible for monitoring and tracking receivables due from ship owners, and working closely with owners for collection
• Responsible for accounting processes and tasks (AR, AR, GL, account reconciliations)
• Responsible for accurate intercompany billing and other intercompany activities
• Support forecasting and budgeting of financial results
• Perform monthly variance analysis to identify irregularities, anomalies and areas of improvement.
• Communicate and collaborate with relevant stakeholders on accounting matters to ensure accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.
• Coordinate and liaise with external parties like auditors, tax agents, corporate secretarial agents, government authorities as required
• Comply with statutory and regulatory requirements
• Participate in company and department initiatives to simplify processes, enhance internal controls, and increase efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Accounts Executive in a mid-sized organisation. Ship management experience is an advantage, but not essential.
• ACCA/Degree/Diploma in Accountancy
• Good working knowledge of Singapore and International Financial Reporting Standards
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics GP, or other mid-range accounting systems
• Independent, self-starter, strong in critical thinking, proactive, resourceful, team-player
• Excellent communication skills

Job Duties:

• Oversee and review the activities of the Finance and drive operational efficiency across AP, AR and GL
• Monitor and implement operation process improvement for collection and payment activities
• Responsible for day-to-day financial operations within the company for payment, AR & AP entries, inter-company entries and other transactions
• Liaise with respective departmental stakeholders on vendor payment and required documentations
• Responsible for maintaining accurate books which includes reviewing of bank reconciliations, balance sheet schedules etc

• Handling tax filing matters and liaise with governments agencies to ensure an efficiency of taxation management for the company - Support budgeting and forecasting activities
• Ensure financial and business-related legislative compliance are met and ensure a clean and timely year end audit
• Support the Management with special projects and workflow process improvements

Requirements:

• Degree in Accountancy or ACCA or equivalent
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Mandarin (in order to liaise with Chinese counterparts or stakeholders)

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and record and post journal entries.
• Responsible for timely and accurate preparation, closing and reporting of monthly and annual financial statements.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and act as overall gatekeeper reconciliation manager.
• Maintaining Fixed Assets Registrar and details listing.
• Assist in Fixed Assets SOX reporting.
• Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
• Responsible for accounting processes, task and process improvements.
• Coordinate and liaise with internal parties to support intercompany activities and variance reconciliations.
• Coordinate and liaise with external parties (external auditors, corporate secretarial) where required
• Assist in new processes and system implementation when required
• Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding financial results, ad hoc requests.
• Collaborate with the other function team members to support overall Finance goals and objectives.
• Assist in external year-end audit.
• Support and ensure compliance with Company finance policies and audits procedures for both statutory and internal control
• Undertake special projects as needed.

Requirements:

• Degree in Accountancy
• At least 3 years of working experience
• Good working knowledge in IFRS and GAAP and SOX reporting
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills and meticulous
• Mature, proactive, resourceful and hands-on with good initiative
• Can-do attitude, driven and passionate about work
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Highly independent worker who is able to work well with minimal supervision
• Well-versed in MS Office, especially MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Knowledge of reporting tools, SAP/HFM
