Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Accountant to fill a replacement position. The ideal candidate should possess 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably within the manufacturing industry. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on financial analysis and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Transactional Tasks: Perform complex transactional-related tasks, including the preparation of FICO documents such as invoices and shipping documents, ensuring compliance with contracts and relevant trade finance instruments.
• Financial Reporting and Analysis: Provide reports and assist in conducting analysis on the financial performance of the company. Ensure that financial information is in compliance with Corporate and local guidelines, including corporate manuals, accounting manuals, and local legislation.
• Performance Improvement: Initiate actions to improve financial performance within the assigned responsibility area.

Local Responsibilities:

• Perform Jeeves period closing procedures.
• Handle accounts receivable tasks, including invoicing and collections.
• Manage credit control processes to ensure timely payment from customers.
• Prepare monthly cash forecasts to support financial planning activities.
• Ad Hoc Duties: Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Manager to support the overall finance function.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Familiarity with Singaporean accounting standards and regulations.
• Singaporean citizenship or permanent residency required.
• No formal degree or registered accountant status required.

(CENTRAL REGION) - Tai Seng Street

Accounting function:
• Encompasses full spectrum of accounting activities
• Has hands-on experience on Accounts Payable function including invoice posting and payment posting.
• Handling staff claim, including reviewing and posting and payroll related posting
• Managing Fixed asset and lease asset, including budget monitoring, capitalization, monthly depreciation and disposal.
• Ensure inventory write down policy and process properly carried out, post necessary journal adjustment with necessary approvals.
• Prepare month-end/quarter-end/year-end journal entries and supporting reconciliations and tackle problems in day-to-day work
• Perform monthly checks on various divisional Sales, Purchases and Inventory and upload the relevant transactions to accounting system and reconcile between Business System and Accounting System
• Organize and work closely with Accounts Executives and the Business Units key personnel ensuring accurate and timely month-end closing
• Deliver monthly, quarterly, half yearly, yearly financial statements using SAP FICO to stake holders
• Prepare internal management reporting and group financial reporting and its supporting analysis for management review and to handle queries from management.
• Cooperate between head office finance and accounting departments related to consolidated financial closing package
• Prepare timely sub reports/schedules/supporting workings in order to complete HQ reporting package on monthly basis and monthly balance sheet schedules
• Check divisional inventory write down proposal before handing over to their sales coordinator for execution; thereafter do the final check after the actual write down exercise is being carried out and ensure all documentation and necessary approvals are obtained
• Oversee the day-to-day operations and activities of the accounting team such as banking matters, accounts receivable, accounts payable, SST, inventory, fixed assets, to ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements.
• Preferred to having prior experience in handling Malaysia accounting, SST and corporate income tax.
• Any ad-hoc assignments and projects.

Auditing and Internal control function:
• Assist in establishing and streamlining accounting policy and procedure.
• Handle external and internal audit exercise and queries; prepare audit schedules including year-end intercom confirmation master file and other supporting documents.
• Preparing audited Financial Statement.
• Make continuous effort to improve/streamline work process within the department and organization

Taxation function:
• Maintain a tax schedule for Malaysia corporate tax filing purposes
• Liaising with tax agent on corporate tax queries and providing tax schedules.
• Monitor new announcement related to Malaysia SST, WHT and corporate income tax.
• Handle WHT tax and COR application as and when necessary.
An independent, committed and hands-on person who is strong in technical and analytical skills, effective and efficient in meeting tight deadlines, produce timely and accurate results and good problems solving skills. A prior knowledge of Malaysian accounting and Taxation will be preferred.

Key requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Accounting
• Years of experience: minimum 4 years hands on in similar job scope
• Proficient in MS Excel (advanced level) and SAP is a MUST!!
• Experience & knowledge in handling Malaysia accounting, SST and corporate income tax (as this contract role is required to mainly handle our subsidiary Malaysia accounting works, 20-30% support local accounts)
