To qualify for the role you must have

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, supported by significant tax accounting experience;
• Minimum of 15 years of work experience in professional services, tax organization or Controllership function
• Strong ASC 740 and/or IAS 12 experience as well as experience in Singapore corporate tax planning and compliance
• Strong analytical skills, written/verbal communication skills, interpersonal; problem-solving ability and attention to detail

The Company

Our client is a leader in the specialty chemical industry and as part of their expansion plans, they are seeking an Internal Audit and Risk Management Manager to overseeing their plant operations in Singapore and Korea.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO and Audit Committee, you will work independently in overseeing the internal audit, risk management and internal controls function for both Singapore and Korea. You will be hands-on in leading and driving all internal audit and risk framework, policies and procedures and ensuring proper implementation of audit recommendations and timely reporting to the Audit Committee.

Last but not least, as a key member overseeing the audit and risk function, you will identify and analyse potential risks and provide recommendations to ensure proper risk management and business continuity planning. You will also be involved in streamlining work processes to improve work and process efficiency throughout the organization.

Your Profile

As the successful candidate, you will possess a degree in accountancy or ACCA with the following relevant experience

• At least 10 years of experience in external and internal audit, ideally within a manufacturing environment
• Prior exposure within a joint venture environment will be highly preferred
• Prior experience in one of the Big 4 firms will be ideal but not a must.
• Ability to travel about once a quarter to the key manufacturing sites in Asia
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to be hands-on, flexible and work independently will be essential.

About the Role

In this role, you will be a key player in our audit department, responsible for conducting audits and reviews of our global group of companies according to the annual work plan approved by the Audit Committee. You will work both independently and as part of a team, leading audits and supervising other team members as needed. Your role will involve utilizing audit software such as Galvanize Highbond and analytics tools like ACL to assess risks and operational effectiveness. You will also engage in consultancy projects including post-investment reviews, control self-assessments, process improvements, and digitalization efforts. Occasionally, you may be required to perform investigations based on management requests. Additionally, you will be tasked with proposing and implementing enhancements to internal audit processes to ensure continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience Needed

To be successful in this role, you should hold a good degree or higher qualification from a recognized university, preferably in IT, Accountancy, or Finance. You will need at least 8-10 years of experience managing audit assignments in a multinational organization, with recent experience in a Big 4 firm considered advantageous. Experience working with data analytics in your audits will be a strong advantage for the role.

You should be proficient in Microsoft Office Tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS, and have experience with Business Intelligence tools such as ACL, IDEA, Python R, QlikView, or Power BI. Familiarity with new technologies and robotics tools, including RPA and NLP, is expected. Strong data analytics, scripting, or programming skills for managing and analyzing large data volumes are essential, along with experience in designing dashboards and reporting.

Other important qualities include being proactive and resourceful with excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to maintain a detailed yet broad perspective on assignments, and a strong governance mindset focused on continuous improvement. You should be adaptable, keep up with new technologies, and have a strong drive for results, effectively managing strict timelines and work pressure.
