This position is connected to a research project titled, “Relocation, Social Networks and Housing Aspirations in Ageing Public Housing”. The research focuses on homeowners’ decision making towards housing relocation. The research team will primarily use ethnographic and interview methods in the research, combining these with a small-scale survey, GPS tracking and GIS visualisations for analyses.

Scope and responsibilities

The RA will provide administrative support to the Principal Investigator for large grant management and liaise with the project team members or external parties on such matters. There will be opportunities to be involved in empirical research and/or data analyses that are central to the project.

The Department of Geography at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is inviting applications for an Assistant Manager / Manager in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to provide support to the GIS Unit and its GIS educational programmes.

The GIS Unit spearheads the research, training and applications of GIS in the Department and aims to extend beyond the academic realm to foster an Asia-focused GIS ecosystem with global reach. The Department is the leading centre in Singapore for GIS research and teaching, hosting comprehensive geospatial and other laboratory facilities. It currently runs four GIS educational programmes at undergraduate and graduate levels based upon a diverse range of courses; the MSc in Applied GIS at the graduate level and the GIS Minor at the undergraduate level, and the Graduate Certificate in Applied GIS and Professional Certificate in Applied GIS for Continuing Education and Training.
