The vision of the Network is to improve public health by developing the clinical evidence base for the prevention and treatment of drug-resistant infections. Its mission is to build and sustain a strategic clinical research network focused on most efficiently delivering locally relevant interventions for drug-resistant infections.

The Network aims to improve and strengthen clinical research capabilities in the region by acting as a platform to develop good principles and practices. It will stabilise capacity and capabilities to mitigate inefficiencies in trial start-up phase and loss of skillset following study closure, as in typical trial setup. The Network will continuously develop its capabilities, quality and efficiency by learning from and collaborating with other clinical trial networks.

In the long term, the Network aims to support broader infectious disease studies by expanding geographically beyond its original starting point in South East Asia and collaborating with other networks around the world. It will function as an active network that involves patients in platform trials, allowing for rapid clinical research response in the event of an emerging infectious disease or pandemic threat.

The monitor should be able to supervise study sites and activities to ensure adherence to appropriate study protocols and applicable regulatory requirement terms of the study.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Conduct qualification visits (QV), site initiation visits (SIV), monitoring visits (MV) and termination visits (TV) at assigned clinical sites and generate visit reports.
• Monitor the progress of clinical study sites participating in a clinical study, and to assure the protocol is followed and data is reported accurately.
• Evaluate the quality and integrity of the reported data, site efficacy and investigational product (IP) management.
• Review the performance of the trial at designated sites, ensure the rights and well-being of human subjects are safeguarded and are in accordance with protocol.
• Develop patient recruitment strategies in conjunction with the clinical site to meet enrolment timelines, while also ensuring compliance with the approved standard operating procedures (SOPs), protocol/amendment(s), GCP, and the applicable regulatory requirement(s).
• Assure that adverse events are correctly documented and reported.
• Ensure proper transmission of clinical case data to the data management centers, review case reports questions and problems and clarify or obtain alterations to data as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Site Management or equivalent experience in clinical research, with understanding of clinical trials methodology and terminology.
• Ability to perform all clinical monitoring activities independently.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills within a matrixed team.
• Experience working in a self-driven capacity, with a sense of urgency and limited oversight.
• Good time management and ability to manage multiple tasks, evaluate a variety of unpredictable scenarios and achieve project timelines while being able to apply your understanding of study protocol(s).
• Strong computer skills, including but not limited to the knowledge of an electronic data capture systems (EDC), Electronic Trial Master File (eTMF), Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS), and MS-Office products such as Excel and Word.
• BSc or MSc in relevant field. A lower educational credential may be considered if candidate has ample monitoring experience.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the enterprise server systems and networking equipment administrations, support escalation, updates, enhancements, and new initiatives rollout.
• Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on Enterprise internetworking technologies, stays abreast of IT technologies trends and industry best practices to provide expert recommendation to management on overall network architecture strategy.
• Manage windows server configuration changes, backup, security updates & patches, and high availability.
• Actively monitoring network availability through enterprise network monitoring tools and proactively response to potential network issue.
• Monitor (and respond to) all network system alerts and provide technical support in terms of troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, cloud, and other inter-related system problems.
• As required, escalate and follow up with Global IT and/or OEM to rectify the issue for any hardware and software related issue.
• Maintain, enforce, and communicate IT and OT Network standards and policies to all entities in the region. Document and inventory network details for reference and in alignment with IT Controls requirements.
• Participates in Company’s IT Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity Plan which provides a defined level of systems functionality in the event of an unplanned emergency or disaster.
• Complies with all ENGIE's IT policies and procedures.
• Render L2 support to IT helpdesk team and end-users when required.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Candidate is required to be hands-on in day-to-day network infrastructure management and support.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other relevant Information Technology field.
• Seven (7) years minimum experience in designing and supporting large-scale enterprise system and network.
• Must have one or more industry certifications in various disciplines such as Azure, AWS, Cisco, Fortinet, and Information Security.
• In-depth knowledge in design and manage networking and security components across multiple public clouds (Such as AWS and Azure) and on-Premises Data Centre.

Associate Professor Giorgia Pastorin is working closely with the industry to co-develop a pipeline of therapeutics based on a colon targeting 3D printed formulation platform. A/Prof Pastorin is looking for motivated applicants for the role of research assistant in a multi-disciplinary research project involving formulation work, 3D printing, quantitative analysis and drug delivery systems. This is a full-time role.

The shortlisted applicant will have the opportunity to work closely with the industry partner, Craft Health Pte Ltd. Craft Health is Singapore and Southeast’s Asia first and only 3D printing company for pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals.

The main responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
• Assist the industry partner for formulation development.
• Chemical and physical assays of the various formulations, including dissolution tests, disintegration tests, FTIR, HPLC, etc.

About the role:

We are looking for a Research Assistant/Master’s student to quantify vitamins and mycotoxins by LC-MS in foods and related materials and develop improved extraction and analytical methods. The candidate should be experienced in analytical science but training will be provided for candidate who has not previously worked with LC-MS. This candidate will be offered a 6-month internship.

Potential Master’s projects:

Novel high protein foods: Optimising nutrition and safety

Aim: To quantify vitamins/mycotoxins in novel soy or algal high protein food produced by TUMCREATE via indoor farming/ extrusion/ fermentation processes. The candidate will utilise these findings in collaboration with food and plant scientists to improve product safety and nutrition.

Mycotoxins and Microbiota: Determining how the human gut microbiota may increase or decrease the dangers of mycotoxins in food

Aim: To quantify mycotoxins in fecal material and in material from in-vitro fecal fermentations and explore how gut microbiota inter-convert mycotoxins into safer or more dangerous forms. The candidate will also explore how variance in gut microbial communities within the Singapore population impacts mycotoxin metabolism. Overall, this project would lead to better understand the risks posed by different mycotoxins in Singapore. This project would suit someone with existing bio-informatic experience.

Job Responsibilities:

• Sample organisation, labelling and processing (food/protein extracts/faecal material)
• Extraction of metabolites (e.g. vitamins) by SPE (solid phase extraction)
• Analysis of metabolites by LC-MS (mainly using targeted triple-quad methodologies)
• Method validation optimisation and quality control
• Data processing, analysis and statistical processing
• Report writing and publication
• Collaboration with food scientists, microbiologists and botanists

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Food Science or related discipline from a reputable university.
• Experience in at least one analytical technique involving preparation of standard curves, pipette technique, randomisation, batch and quality control samples. Prior experience with LC-MS or HPLC is particularly useful.
• Excellent organisational skills
• Basic data handling and statistical ability. Prior experience with metabolic or genetic datasets will be advantageous but is not essential.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
