Job Description

The incumbent will play a key role in working closely with the School’s stakeholders involved in undergraduate medical education, particularly senior leadership and key administrative partners of healthcare institutions, to ensure that funding for training medical students are accurately disbursed, payment disputes are resolved satisfactorily, and compile data for reporting purposes. The Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (YLLSOM) is a leading research institution in the world, being ranked in the top 20 worldwide and holds the top position in Asia (QS ranking). Established in 1905 to educate and train medical professionals for Singapore, YLLSOM hosts more than 40 departments in the basic sciences and clinical specialties, as well as faculty research centres and Translational Research Programmes covering a full spectrum of medical specialties.

If hired, the Professor will be part of the Centre for Translational MR Research (TMR), which offers state-of-the-art Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) capacity for both clinical and translational research. TMR is staffed with trained personnel to support research in imaging and image analysis, spanning from basic science to clinical trials. The National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for the role of Research Assistant/Research Associate with the Heat Resilience & Performance Centre (HRPC), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The HRPC is a first-of-its-kind research centre, established at the NUS, to spearhead and conduct research and development to better enable the future challenges arising from rising ambient heat. Appointments will be made on a two-year contract basis, with the possibility of extension.

The Research Assistant/Associate who will play a key role in assisting in the development, execution and analysis of research aimed at addressing the challenges of training and operating in rising ambient temperatures. The successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary group comprising exercise and thermal physiologists, data scientists, biomedical engineers and researchers. This role will provide you with a unique opportunity to not only develop your expertise in research planning and execution, but also to be a part of the team looking to generate fundamental and forward-looking solutions to working in the heat. There are also opportunities to pursue a part-time PhD with HRPC.
