The Creative Arts and Design Technician supports teaching staff and students in the areas of Creative Arts, Design, Service, Sustainability, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) within the GESS BeyondClassrooms program. This role involves building positive partnerships that enhance teaching and learning, as well as assisting with activities and events. The Creative Arts and Design Technician is expected to be an active, motivated member of the GESS community, aligning their efforts with the school’s mission, vision, and strategic goals.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

General duties

· Organise materials and prepare resources for the, BeyondClassrooms programs, including but not limited to, service and sustainability, creative arts, design, innovation and STEM teams.

Design department

· Maintain machinery, power tools and other equipment and ensure they are in always in safe working order.

· Ensure extraction systems are regularly checked and cleared.

· Liaise with the First Aid team to ensure first aid boxes are stocked.

The Science, Mathematics and Technology (SMT) cluster has an open position to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor with a strong record of scholarly research, and with a PhD in any of the following fields: BioInformatics, Applied Mathematics and/or High-Performance Computing. Postdoctoral experience after the PhD degree is desired. We are particularly interested in candidates with an open mind towards multidisciplinary research and whose research area, methods and/or tools can impact multiple fields and society.

Candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to developing and maintaining an active research program. Candidates should be able to teach undergraduate courses in applied mathematics, modeling/simulation or at least two between chemistry, biology or physics related courses at an introductory level. We are particularly interested in individuals with a strong and genuine interest in promoting STEM education at levels. We invite applications for a teaching track position at lecturer or senior lecturer level at the Science, Mathematics and Technology (SMT) Cluster. Duties include teaching of undergraduate and continuous education courses, advising undergraduate student projects, conducting pedagogical research, creating innovative curriculum, student outreach, and service to SUTD and the community. The minimal qualifications for the faculty position include:

1. An earned doctorate in Applied Mathematics, Physics, Bioinformatics or related engineering fields,
2. A strong passion and high competence in teaching applied mathematics, physics, modeling/simulation and related courses at the undergraduate levels,
3. Excellent communication skills,
4. Prior teaching experience, including experience in technology-enabled learning, is preferred,
5. Prior experience in pedagogy research is preferred,

A postdoctoral research fellow position is available at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). The research focuses on semantic communications, resource allocation, and edge AI.

Job Description:

- Perform Civil, Structural Analysis and Design (entry-level) to meet project specifications

- Coordination and Liaise with Clients, Authority and Other Consultants, Contractors on Projects

- Ensuring Good Project Documentation and Submission to Authority and Clients

- Attend Project Meeting and Perform Inspections on Designed Works

- Reporting to Senior Engineer

Job Requirements:

- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree / Post-Graduate Diploma / Professional Degree in Engineering (Civil/ Structural) or equivalent, recognized by Professional Engineering Board of Singapore

- At least 1 Year (s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position

- Good Working Attitude, Self-Motivated, Positive Thinking, Independent, Discipline, Attention to Details and Ownership of Tasks

- Familiar with Local Design Standard and Code

- Knowledge of Design Software, e.g., STAAD Pro, Plaxis, AutoCAD will be added advantage

- Candidate with longer experience or qualifications will be considered for Senior Positions
