DESIGN COORDINATOR

Responsibilites:

• Coordinate and oversee design projects from conception to completion.
• Use of AutoCAD to perform MEP drawing works.
• Monitor modelling / updates drawings / inform Project Manager on any changes.
• Manage project schedules and deadlines.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure project goals are met.
• Communicate with clients to interpret their needs and requirements.
• Ensure that the final design meets client expectations.
• Able to produce design drawings which meet the requirements of the job in accordance with relevant design standards and codes of practice such as the NFPA and FM Cores and Technical directives
• Able to do Hydraulic calculations.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in various software such as AutoCad, BIM (Building Information Modeling),
• Microstation.
• Min 3 years experience in Construction related work.
• Knowledge of NFPA and FM codes will be an added advantage.
• Diploma / Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Salary Range: $2800.00 to $3500.00
• Working hours: 5.5 days work week

Job Description:

Analyze, design, develop, maintain products and assist in their commercialization.

Basic knowledge on electrical motors (Induction and Permanent Magnet type)

Understanding of basic electrical circuits, motor control and VSD operations

Main Scope

To support engineering design, development, and project delivery and completion.

Description of the Role

Engineering Design Activities
• Participate in project kick off, concept and design reviews and other project meetings as needed.
• Prepare design calculation / bill of material / drawings on assigned jobs.
• Participate in Crane/Structure Complete Checks and inter-discipline checks.
• Maintain knowledge of class rules.
• Produce technical manuals on request.
• Assisting Technical Sales Support when required.

Document Management
• Establish as-built and input regarding final documentation to project documentation engineer.
• Establish and distribute project documentation such as BOM, production log and component list etc.

Reporting Progress and Work Involvement
• Report to manager in the individual projects.
• Prepare progress report on work schedule.
• Preparation of test procedure and report in accordance to design requirement.
• Recommend and initiate corrective actions to meet project plan.
• Report non-conformances in QA System.

Others
• To execute key tasks/project assigned by Supervisor as and when.

Job Requirements

Education
• BSc or Higher Degree in Marine / Offshore Mechanical or Structure Engineering

Experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience in design marine-offshore Crane product / Steel structure.
• Familiar to Class rules / Standards for crane and steel structure design.
• Knowledge in design software Solidwork, able to use FEA is preferable.
