JOB SUMMARY:
As the Assistant Warehouse Manager, you need to oversee the efficient flow of goods within the warehouse. Your primary objective will be to optimize inventory management, streamline processes, and ensure the seamless movement of the inventory throughout the warehouse. By implementing innovative strategies, and inspiring a team of warehouse professionals, you will play a critical role in our company's growth and success.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Inventory Management
• Develop and execute comprehensive inventory control strategies to minimize stock discrepancies, shrinkage, and obsolescence.
• Monitor stock levels, conduct regular audits, and collaborate with procurement and production teams to ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained.
• Utilize inventory management systems to track and report on inventory accuracy, product movements, and cycle counts.
• Prepare reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and other warehouse-related metrics.
2. Operational Excellence
• Design and implement efficient warehouse layout and workflow processes to maximize space utilization and improve productivity.
• Continuously identify areas for improvement, devise and implement innovative solutions, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational excellence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment, including picking, packing, and shipping.
• Create solutions and value-added services to meet customer's current logistics requirements.
• Develop and implement cost-saving strategies to improve warehouse efficiency and reduce operational costs.
3. Team Leadership
• Lead, coach, and inspire a team of warehouse personnel, providing guidance and support to achieve operational targets.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement through effective communication, training programs, and performance evaluations.
• Plan and manage staffing levels, schedule resources, and allocate tasks to ensure optimal productivity and operational coverage.
4. Health and Safety
• Promote a safe working environment by enforcing compliance with all health and safety regulations, conducting regular safety inspections, and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
• Collaborate with the safety committee to develop and execute safety training programs and ensure warehouse staff is well-versed in emergency procedures.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Diploma/Degree in logistics, warehouse management, supply chain management, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in managing and leading a department.
• Proven track record in warehouse operations, systems, and processes improvements and leadership skills.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management, logistics, warehouse and end-to-end inbound and outbound operation including knowledge of customs regulations and freight forwarding.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office.
