Responsibilities:
- Take charge of the day-to-day operations and technical management of the fleet.
- Manage the administrative processes for working inventory, defect reporting and rectification, consumption reports, requisitions, and certification, and ensure compliance with statutory, class, company, department and charterer requirements;
- Draft and execute plans for Preventive Maintenance Schedule (PMS), docking and repairs, and prepare regular inspection and progress reports for stakeholders;
- Carry out regular inspections, audits, and surveys, and rectify deficiencies and address non-conformances;
- Update and maintain records for all vessels’ drawings and instruction manuals of equipment onboard the vessels;
- Partner sub-contractors and shipyards on all maintenance and repair activities, and prepare specifications for RFQ/RFI;
- Conduct incident and near-miss investigations and ensure follow-up actions;
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure financial performance of assigned fleet achieves set targets;
- Plan and implement Fleet projects including those pertaining to decarbonisation as well as application of data and digital technologies including automation, AI/machine learning and cyber-physical interfaces;
- Plan and execute process improvements in tandem with current and future business requirements and carry out necessary interventions;
- Spearhead special projects as and when assigned.
Requirement:
- Possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering or Class 5 Certificate of Competency as Marine Engineer Officer;
- Have at least 3 years of experience as Technical Superintendent or Assistant Technical Superintendent in a ship manager’s capacity;
- Demonstrate strong team orientation, self-initiated planning and outcome-driven resourcefulness and excellent stakeholder management as well as effective cross-cultural communication and project execution skills;
- Exhibit a strong interest in the application of marine technology and sustainability.
