We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our team in Rio Tinto’s Commercial Hub in Singapore. The role is a fantastic opportunity to work with multiple stakeholders to manage planning and performance management at a large, dynamic and complex organisation to support the development and execution of strategic decision making. This role is a key link to Group Finance driving alignment with the Group and the connection to Group Leadership. Manage planning process to execute our strategy and drive performance management:

• Manage and oversee the Commercial planning process with information and insights valuable to leadership in terms of revenues, profitability, working capital, value drivers and costs.
• Influence senior management in shaping commercial strategies, priorities and delivering outcomes.
• Drive the evolution of performance management processes and forward-looking KPI’s, tracking key value drivers that align to Commercial and Group objectives.

Partner with the business to drive performance management and value delivery:

• Partner with Product Group leadership, finance teams and other stakeholders across the business to drive effective performance management.
• Identify opportunities and risks, and pro-actively make recommendations and influence outcomes.
• Leveraging on insights into the Group’s working capital to provide leadership with input and influence strategy for cash conversion and value generation.
• Drive and further embed cost ownership with leaders in the business.
• Enabling leadership, across Commercial to hold the organisation to account, monitor progress against plan and challenge variances.

Drive change initiatives and transformation in Finance:

• Strongly exhibit Rio Tinto’s value for continuous improvement and excellence, optimising FBP practices that contribute to Commercial’s success.
• Own and drive the process improvement and automation roadmap across Commercial Finance, incorporating AI and playing a key role in embedding the Finance uplift journey.
• Identify and champion efficiency gains and performance improvements to significantly reduce manual monthly processes.
• Use best practices and knowledge of internal and external business environment to provide advice to the business and improve processes and performance.
• Develop finance capability within the business: Work with Group through the delivery of the modern ERP delivery to ensure fit for purpose systems, processes, KPIs, reporting, planning and forecasting.
• Manage and develop Finance Business Partners across different levels of experience from junior finance advisors to manager-level FBPs

Oversee Commercial assurance program:

• Accountability and oversight over the Commercial Assurance Program (Sarbanes-Oxley) across all Commercial covering the Group’s full revenue line across all commodities.
• Direct the advisory to the business on control design effectiveness, risk assessment and end to end process control framework.
• Drive and enable the delivery of process improvements incorporating best practice SOX controls including automated IT controls.
• Partner with Commercial Risk, identifying risks for new initiatives (e.g. trading, partnerships and other customer initiatives).

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
