What the day will look like

ACIA’s Climate Risk Advisory team is currently looking for an experienced Data Scientist to help empower results for our clients by providing high quality business analysis deliverables to product managers, product owners, and other development team members.

In this role, you will have an opportunity to work with newer modern technologies as well as tried and tested traditional technologies in the data ingestion/wrangling/storage toolchain as well as mainstream BI visualization tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and/or improvement of analytic models through design, testing and implementation to improve scalability, efficiency and accelerate delivery of insights
• Develop clear and well-structured analytical approach on datasets to generate commercial insights
• Source and visualize data across multiple sources
• Create mock-ups, prototypes and technical work flows using wireframe or any other business process tools.
• Work closely with fellow analysts and developers in implementing business intelligence and machine learning deliverables

Skills and experience that will lead to success

• 5 years of experience in similar role
• BS or MS degree in actuarial science, mathematics, computer science or other related field with strong statistical background
• Working knowledge in data visualization tools such as PowerBI or equivalent
• Proficient in statistical analysis (hypothesis development, testing, regression) and experience with building scalable analytic models, reporting pipelines, with Python preferably
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, demonstrates structured and logical thinking to problem solving
• Ability to take initiative in an unstructured environment, demonstrating a bias towards action and high attention to detail

What the day will look like

Skills and experience that will lead to success

The main responsibility of this role is to enhance the system's governance and automate operations in our Jira environment by implementing technical improvements. As a Jira Governance and Administration Specialist, ensuring that our Jira setup is efficient and secure and can effectively support our organisation’s diverse needs is critical.

Key Responsibilities:

Establishing and implementing strong guidelines for using Jira across different departments is important. This includes technical improvements, such as optimizing field configuration schemes, as well as ensuring system integrity and securing access to old projects. Automation can be used to streamline critical Jira maintenance tasks to archive old projects and update user groups.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams is crucial to understanding requirements and providing customized Jira solutions. Providing training and support to users is also essential to maximise the effectiveness of Jira tools.

Regular monitoring of system performance, conducting audits, and implementing necessary updates or changes are vital to ensure the smooth functioning of Jira.

Qualifications:

· Proven experience in Jira administration and governance.

· Experience in automating Jira operations, preferably with GitHub actions and Terraform.
