The collaborative project is led by Prof. Dr. Manuel Spitschan (TUMCREATE/TUM) and Asst. Prof. Raymond Najjar (NUS). HYCOMBS Project is seeking a highly motivated and talented Research Fellow to join the project, a research initiative focused on advancing combustion science and technology for gas turbines and internal combustion engines in Singapore.

The successful candidate will be based in Singapore and contribute to Work Package 2.1, “Laminar H2/NH3 flames”, led by Dr. Ducruix and Dr. Minesi.

HYCOMBS PROJECT

HYCOMBS: Hydrogen and Ammonia Combustion in Singapore

In the future, Singapore may be importing renewable energy in the form of hydrogen (H2) or ammonia (NH3). These zero-carbon fuels will require the development of new gas turbines (GTs) and internal combustion engines (ICE) used in power generation, aviation, and maritime propulsion.

This project focuses on the combustion fundamentals of hydrogen, ammonia, their blends, and their blends with hydrocarbon fuels. The knowledge acquired in HYCOMBS will enable the penetration of zero-carbon fuels in the Singapore energy system and this will benefit Singaporean industries and residents.

The HYCOMB project aims to develop a deeper understanding of hydrogen/ammonia combustion phenomena and improve the efficiency, stability, and environmental sustainability of gas turbines and internal combustion engines. The Global Centre for Asian Women’s Health (GloW) aims to build a global research platform for transdisciplinary endeavours to address major health concerns over a woman's lifespan and across generations. Through its main hub in Singapore, the Centre will engage in multi-disciplinary research to promote women’s health, including a series of diet and lifestyle intervention studies.

Purpose of the role

The project coordinator/manager will play a key role in dietary intervention studies by actively managing and coordinating diet and lifestyle intervention studies in GloW. Responsibilities include performing administrative duties to ensure the studies’ success and compliance. The staff will work closely with Principal Investigators of intervention studies, collaborate closely with the research team, food service team, and other relevant stakeholders, as well as undertake other ad-hoc responsibilities assigned by the Centre’s Director as needed.
