Business Functions - Property and Casualty Actuarial
About the Role:
Are you a recent diploma graduate eager to kickstart your career in the dynamic field of actuarial science? Join our team in the Asia Pacific Property & Casualty division, where you'll gain hands-on experience in corporate actuarial topics, including reserving, technical reporting (IFRS17), planning and controlling. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on impactful projects and develop your skills in a supportive environment.
What you do
- Data Preparation and Template Management: Gain hands-on experience by preparing data and completing templates for Reserves Review. This task will help you develop strong data management skills and an understanding of key actuarial processes.
- Performance Tracking and Analysis: Learn to set up and monitor quarterly reserve Key Performance Indices (KPIs) and conduct performance analysis for Lines of Business (LOB). You'll use industry-standard tools like Power BI to track metrics such as Gross Written Premium, Combined Ratio, Loss Ratio, and Expense Ratio, enhancing your analytical capabilities.
- Claims Data Collection and Verification: Collect and verify crucial information on claims, including attritional, large, and catastrophe claims. This project will enhance your understanding of claims data.
- Reinsurance Process Enhancement: Contribute to improving the reinsurance process by focusing on the accuracy and timeliness of Catastrophe data submissions. You'll also assist in refining AZAP reinsurance pricing tools, gaining insights into the intricacies of reinsurance operations.
- Support for Business-As-Usual Activities: Engage in regular actuarial activities such as quarterly closing, analysis, commentaries, and product approval. This involvement will give you a well-rounded understanding of the daily operations and decision-making processes in the actuarial field.

What you bring
- Recent Graduates: Diploma in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics or a related field.
- Strong mathematical proficiency: solid understanding of probability, statistics, and financial mathematics. Strong interest in actuarial principles and methodologies would be desirable.
- Analytical Thinkers: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Eager Learners: Enthusiasm for learning, modeling and forecasting with actuarial, and adapting to new challenges,
- Team Players: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
