The Chemical Technician is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operations of the process units and equipment by measuring, recording and controlling process operating parameters. Expected to diagnose and rectify systems and components’ faults in accordance to established procedures and specifications and to ensure that the process units and equipment operates safely and efficiently.

• perform minor maintenance performing checks, start-up and shutdown operations on process equipment such as pumps and compressors.
• carry out filter changes isolating piping systems for plant start-up, shutdowns, product grade change and troubleshooting operations
• adjusting process parameters to optimize process operations under supervision of Supervisors
• commissioning and decommissioning of process equipment
• performing emergency shutdown of process equipment
• proper handing and blending of non-conforming and off specs products
• preparing plant equipment for maintenance
• preparing chemicals, including mixing and dilution, for process operations
• performing inter-tank transfers of chemicals and products based on established quality procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

• Analyze and evaluate existing processes, take measurements and interpret data including SCADA system operations (in line with company towards digitalization)
• Perform risk assessments
• Research, design, and develop processes to optimize productivity and workflow
• Oversee operations and maintenance of facility processes
• Determine the organization and setup of operations
• Oversee implementation of new processes and procedures
• Investigate and troubleshoot any problems that arise with processes, procedures, and operations
• Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve throughput and quality of output
• Manage cost and time constraints
• Provide process documentation and operating instructions
• Involve and perform PSM and Hazop study
• Become turn key manager to plan and execute plant shutdown

Requirements:

• Degree in Chemical Engineering with at least 1 year of process industry experience
• Strong working knowledge of process related standards, Process Improvement and Safety Management
• Team oriented and dynamic
