We are seeking an individual with architectural technical experience for the position of Mechanical Project Engineer at Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. Singapore operations. The candidate will work directly with the Mechanical Project Manager and the subcontractors throughout the six-year design and construction phase of the largest multistory data center in Asia (The Project).

Reporting to the Mechanical Project Manager, the candidate will be accountable for ensuring the work required such as submittals, RFI’s, coordination drawings, updating documents, etc are complete, ready and approved for Mechanical Subcontractors to perform their scope of work in the strictest of compliance to the contract documents. This role is focused on working with the Mechanical Project Manager who is managing the Mechanical Subcontractor field operations and installation details for a large complex data center project, having stringent technical requirements.

It is expected the candidate will be a very detail-oriented individual with previous experience working as an Mechanical Project Engineer on data center projects and or other complex technical projects. There will be a significant amount of “hands on” work coordinating approved design documents and ensuring installed work in the field are in compliance with such documents. • Handling matters for project office, such as employees attendance, accommodation/dormitory related issues, training, leave applications, etc.
• Handling all documentation preparations in the project including issuance to relevant internal and external parties.
• Work closely with Finance Department to ensure compliance with proper accounting reporting, regarding supplier invoice, staff claim, petty cash claim.
• Assist HR to control and verify application and renewal of Work Permit and applicable Security Passes / OT claims & attendance sheets.
• Assist in training initiatives and program organized by Training Development Department
• Manage and maintain a record of site office’s assets including acquisition and disposal.
• Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues by the Project and Admin Managers.
• Manage transport arrangement at project site
• Updates of vendors profiles
• Assist PMs in Issuance of Purchase Orders / Requisitions
• Processing Tax Invoices
• Project Monthly submission to Client.

Our client is one of the leading Japanese construction companies. They are actively looking for a Project Manager to join their team in Singapore.

The Responsibilities:

• The mission of the position is to lead the project assigned to successful completion within the project schedule & scope as well as obtain the targeted profit, and achieve high customer satisfaction
• Areas of Focus / Main Duties / Projects, etc. (List out the duties & responsibility and respective weightage, 100% in total)
• Resolve complex issues with clients & consultants, JV Partner, and/or sub- contractors which is not able to be handled by subordinates (50%)
• Direct project team members to achieve targets of safety, quality, profit and timely completion of the project. To monitor the progress of the project according to the targets set (35%)
• Identify key staff to lead the project and delegate responsibilities. Provide guidance and direction to staff for them to work towards the targets set (5%)
• Personnel management and development (5%)
• Oversee the tender works including provide the directions on planning, construction technique, quality of tender submission documents, risk and issue management, tender price negotiation with suppliers and subcons for finalization (5%)

The Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of engineering with recognized degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering
• At least 5 years of experience in managing building construction works
• Minimum 5 years of experience with Singapore local authorities
• Completed 1 full cycle of a project with at least S$30mil contract value as a managerial staff (e.g. construction manager)
• Experiences in JV projects which consist of foreign companies (e.g. Chinese, Korean, European construction companies)
