Job Scope

• Operate and maintain all passive and active network equipment in Cable Landing Station (CLS) environment including but not limiting to SLTE, PFE, DWDM, Open Cable Access Equipment (OCAE), AC/DC Power, etc.
• Operate and maintain all active Local Loop Networks in Singapore which include but not limited to DWDM and local loop Optical cable networks connecting CLS with various POPs

We are seeking an individual with civil/structural/architectural technical experience for the position of Project Engineer at Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd.  The candidate will work directly with the Project Manager and the subcontractors throughout the design and construction phase of the largest multistory data centre in Asia (The Project).

The candidate will be accountable for ensuring the work required, such as submittals, RFI’s, coordination drawings, updating documents, etc, are complete, ready and approved for the CSA subcontractors to perform their scope of work in the strictest of compliance to the contract documents.  This role is focused on managing the CSA subcontractors' field operations and installation details for a large complex data center project, having stringent technical requirements.

We seek an individual with mechanical, electrical, or plumbing technical experience for the position of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Site Supervisor at Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. Singapore operations.  The candidate will work directly with the construction managers and the subcontractors throughout the construction phase of the largest multistory data centre in Asia (The Project).

Reporting to a construction manager, the candidate will be responsible for coordinating site-related works with the MEP Subcontractors to perform their scope of work in the strictest of compliance to the contract documents.  This role is focused on working in the field and will report directly to a Construction Manager. This candidate should understand all aspects of construction in relation to executing work on-site 

It is expected that the candidate will be detail-oriented and have previous experience working as a mechanical, electrical, or plumbing site supervisor on data centre projects and/or other complex technical projects.  There will be a significant amount of “hands-on” work coordinating with contractors in the field while installing all aspects of the project superstructure.  The candidate must have robust Emotional Quotient (EQ) skills and be able to relate to and communicate with the client, the Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. team, and subcontractors of all tiers and vendors and immediately establish trust and confidence in his/her ability.

Responsibilities:

• Represent Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. in the utmost professional manner while constantly embracing honesty, integrity, and truth

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the contract documents (drawings and specifications), phasing plans, structural systems interrelationships, construction sequencing, and project schedule
• Attend daily job site safety meetings and perform weekly project safety audits
• Work with the project safety team to ensure all works are being carried out to the highest levels of safety
• Coordinate with on-site Resident Technical Officers (RTOs) and Resident Engineers( REs) for all required inspections and work verification
• Develop look-ahead schedules and assist the MEP Construction manager in long-range planning
• Facilitate problem-solving, as may arise, between structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical and CSA subcontractors during construction
• Work closely with the MEP Construction Manager to lead logistics of all installed MEP works
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems and how mechanical, electrical, or plumbing are sequenced in a high-rise construction project
• Log and post all MEP changes and as-built information on field drawings. Provide such information to the Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) team so the information can be incorporated into the final virtual model
• Ensure all information is current and communicated with the MEP/project team
• Interface with the Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. Owner Furnished Equipment (OFE) manager for all client-provided equipment
• Liaise with the mechanical, electrical, or plumbing engineering consultants, supervisory engineers, inspectors and relevant staff
• Produce weekly cloud-based QA/QC checks for the MEP scope of work
• Ensure that MEP Subcontractors adhere to relevant quality documentation/records
• Assist in the testing and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, or plumbing equipment. (Dock Levelers, Lifts etc.)

• Takes a lead in preparing schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations as requested and checks and confirms that the correct scope of work is reflected on assigned schedules. 
• Integrates inter-discipline schedule requirements and constraints to establish logical work sequences for assigned disciplines or specialities. 
• Review and assess the work sequences with the total project plan. 
• Establishes and implements methods for determining activity durations within assigned disciplines or specialities. 
• Reviews and approves invoice verification for payment based on cost-loaded schedules, as required. 
• Determines critical-path activities for assigned disciplines or specialties, identifies significant activities supporting inter-disciplinary requirements, and identifies critical paths for discipline or specialty work activities.
• Identifies, analyses and monitors schedule deviations for assigned disciplines or specialties including subcontractor submittals and recommends corrective action/work-around solutions for project considerations. 
• Develops and writes the schedule commentary in the monthly progress and similar reports. Identifies and reports activities that have a critical or potential impact on the schedule. 
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate under the direction of the Lead Planner-Scheduler.

• To ensure the safety lifting regulations and requirements are being complied on-site Including review of lifting plans and rigging
• Provide technical advice on matters pertaining to primarily heavy transport and rigging/lifting operations, management of change, deviations and / or non-compliances.
•  Monitor subcontractors’ transportation and lifting method statements to ensure compliance with Project requirements.
• Ensure subcontractors’ lifting activities comply with the project’s Health, Safety, and Environment codes, procedures, and policies.
• Ensure that the ground conditions are safe for any lifting operation to be performed
• Work with engineers, construction managers to derive or review critical lifting plans
• To review all lifting plans before execution
• Facilitate specific trainings and briefing together with the HSE department

We seek an individual with QA/QC experience in the electrical trades for the position of QA/QC Engineer for Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. Singapore operations. The candidate will assist with the QA/QC program throughout the design and construction phase of the largest multistory data centre in Asia (The Project).

Reporting to the QA/QC Manager, the candidate will ensure the implementation and compliance with the Quality Assurance System and the scope of work related to electrical items. 

It is expected the candidate will be a very detailed and organized individual with extensive previous experience working as a QA/QC on large, international projects and deep knowledge of electrical systems. There will be a significant amount of “hands-on” work in understanding and implementing the VDC QA/QC systems. The candidate must have excellent leadership and Emotional Quotient (EQ) skills and be able to relate to and communicate with the client, the Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. team, subcontractors of all tiers, vendors and immediately establish trust and confidence in his/her ability.

The candidate will guide other team members they interact with and manage daily. The candidate will be expected to know the drawings and specifications and dig into the details to resolve issues.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute and share program evolutions and lessons learned with Fortis Construction, Inc. US operations QA/QC Managers
• Represent Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. in the utmost professional manner while constantly embracing honesty, integrity, and truth
• Comply with Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. anti-graft, non-bribery requirements
• Review approved electrical drawings and ensure compliance with the construction specifications
• Coordinate with Project Engineers for technical assistance, generating Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for Client-requested quality observations and project closeout
• Work together with the electrical contractors to properly document the quality process, tracking and final turnover
• Run the weekly QA/QC Meetings, drive open quality issues to closure, keep meeting minutes and document for future reference together with subcontractors
• Play a proactive role with field inspections, together with the subcontractors and the Client in developing pre-test plans before contractual testing and stay ahead of typically scheduled inspections with the authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ). Assist the contractor in the resolution of known issues and lessons learned from other sites
• Assist with onsite/remote BIM 360 Field training of new Trade Partners/site personnel (iPad and Desktop) and competency with BIM 360 Field to create issues, capture QA/QC-related issues, and create checklists.
• Identify issues and close them before punch walk and area substantial turnover date, by working with the Client and Trade Partner’s QA/QC team
• Establish a great relationship with the Client, Trade Partner and local AHJ
