Job Scope

• Inspect and verify the condition of cargo to certify compliance with national and international regulations in cargo handling and stowage.
• Provide technical and professional advice to mitigate risks according to marine warranties.
• Investigate and evaluate cargo loss or damage if arising of an incident.
• Prepare comprehensive reports, addressing liability when requested
• Maintain accurate records of all inspections performed
• Adhere to strict safety standards when conducting inspections
• Travel to survey sites as and when necessary.

Requirement

• Seagoing experience is essential, with COC-3 (Deck) preferred.
• Previous cargo surveying experience will be an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) in English.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for construction projects.
• Perform quantity take-off and prepare cost breakdowns for materials, labor, and equipment.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate measurement and costing of project activities.
• Analyze project specifications and drawings to identify potential cost savings and value engineering opportunities.
• Manage and monitor project budgets and cash flows.
• Prepare and submit claims and variations to clients and subcontractors.
• Provide regular cost reports and updates to project management.

Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in quantity surveying for construction and architectural background.
• Prior knowledge in AutoCAD, ELV, electrical, mechanical and security system drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Entry:

• Accurately enter and manage data related to construction operations and administrative tasks.

Trip Ticket Management:

• Count and verify vehicle trip tickets for monthly billing purposes.
• Ensure all trip tickets are accurately recorded and reconciled with billing statements.

Procurement:

• Assist in the procurement of construction materials, and other necessary supplies.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal personnel to ensure timely delivery of materials.

Inventory Management:

• Perform simple inventory stock-taking and manage the replenishment of goods.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure the availability of necessary items.

Vehicle and Equipment Management:

• Arrange for the servicing of vehicles and excavators.
• Coordinate with service providers to ensure all equipment is maintained in good working condition.
• Update all types of machinery meter hours and mileages to prepare for servicing.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Diploma Certificate.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with both internal and external personnel.
• Excellent organizational and data management skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to verify and reconcile data accurately.
• Basic knowledge of procurement and inventory management processes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
