Job Description

• Oversee and conduct testing of raw materials, APIs, finished goods, and stability samples to ensure adherence to quality standards
• Lead and mentor a team of QC analysts, ensuring alignment with quality goals, providing training, and offering technical support when necessary
• Review, validate, and approve laboratory data, ensuring accuracy, precision, and reliability of results
• Develop and implement new testing methods and ensure team adherence to industry standards and regulatory guidelines
• Act as a liaison between the QC team and cross-functional teams including Production, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory Affairs to resolve quality issues
• Lead investigations into out-of-specification results, deviations, and customer complaints, ensuring root cause analysis and effective corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs) are taken
• Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to product specifications, and proactively address potential quality risks
• Collaborate with senior management to develop strategies for improving quality control processes and implementing best practices
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (FDA, EMA, ICH etc.) by preparing comprehensive reports and maintaining up-to-date documentation for internal and external audits
• Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained, calibrated, and ready for accurate testing operations
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and lead team projects aimed at optimizing quality control processes

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline
• Experience in a quality control or analytical laboratory, preferably in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, preferably from an oral solid dosage formulation plant
• Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), International Conference on Harmonisation (ICH) guidelines, and regulatory requirements such as FDA
• Expertise in analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-VIS, and FTIR
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, regulated environment
