Job Description & Requirements

· Perform inspections in accordance with the ITP (Inspection and Test Plan) & Project Specification

· Ensure that material/consumables are stored and handled in accordance with manufacturers requirements and data sheets are available, when required, material traceability is maintained and correct material used

· Monitor the performance of contractors, ensure Applicators are competent and where required have valid certification for the process in use, equipment is in serviceable condition

· Ensure inspection and test equipment is serviceable, with in calibration period and personnel are knowledgeable in its use

· Ensure blast medium and coating materials conform to project specifications

· Ensure surface preparation blast profile/cleanliness meet requirements,

· Monitor wet film thickness during application and application technique.

· Ensure ambient conditions are acceptable for required process output.

· Monitor dry film thickness and re-coating intervals.

· Ensure any identification marks or tags removed or over coated are replaced.

· After the full curing activity conduct visual inspection and specified non-destructive and destructive tests.

· Prepare daily reports on the work in progress.

· Responsible for timely inspection during fabrication and construction, proactive in the prevention of non-compliance and problem resolution.

Job Requirement:

· Required to carry out various task including but not limited to climbing, working at heights and confined space.

NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) level I (Level II is a plus) or similar.

· Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in painting and coating Inspection.

. Strong understanding of discipline related Codes, Standards, Inspections , Testing methods and criteria’s

· Proficient computer knowledge with Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word and Outlook) is required.

· Ability to prioritize the work in multi-tasking environment.

· Ability to meet tight deadlines, follow up on commitments, and action.

· Strong ability to solve problems and communicate persuasively.

· Willing to work in a Plant / Refinery environment

· Willing to work in Jurong Island 60 hours per week

Responsibilities:

• Oversees the operations of Safety & Security, and Research Facilities Services, ensure processes are in accordance and compliant with regulatory standards, and institute policies.
• Conduct annual safety audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and institute policies and processes. Report audit findings, follow up on corrective actions, etc.
• Manage institute laboratory risk assessments.
• Oversee incident management, reporting investigations, and implementing corrective actions in accordance with institute guidelines.
• Manage IBC projects applications, including IBC meetings and project reviews, etc
• Chemical and Biological) inventory management.
• Ensure good maintenance of critical equipment with proper training provided to user, validation and certification.
• Coordinate institute safety training programs.
• Operation of the A/BSL3 facilities (i.e. certification, red-teaming exercises, drills, etc).
• Monitor and manage license permits (i.e. applications, renewals, etc.) with regulatory bodies.
• Operation management of Research Facilities such as the BSL3, cGMP, Plant Facilities, Arthropod etc, to ensure compliance with safety regulatory and institute SOP.
• Project management of research infrastructure upgrading or modification in response to research demand. This includes drafting of tender specification, evaluation and recommendation etc.
• Any other duties as required.

Requirements:

• At least a Degree in Bio-engineering, Bioscience, Life Science, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in Laboratory Safety. Biosafety and/or Workplace Health and Safety is preferred.
• Possess fundamental principles knowledge and experience in biosafety operation, bio-containment, laboratory infrastructure and laboratory equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary parties, including engineers, administrators, procurement, researchers, vendors, etc.
• Proven self-driven attitude, willingness to learn and the ability to multitask effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated leadership quality (e.g. leading a team or projects).
