RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Risk Management
- Lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of local elevated and horizon risks within business risk appetite, creating monitors and controls where appropriate balancing risks with commerciality.
- Escalate any elevated risk to local Executive Risk Committee and Global BRMs.
- Be the “connector” between global and local and importing / exporting best practices.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure adherence to local and extraterritorial regulations.
- Support local regulatory and internal audits and Compliance reviews.
Local Business Governance, Conduct & Supervision
- Support the Markets Heads in the effective supervision of Markets staff, and oversight of Global Credit Markets (GCM), Treasury Markets, and Capital Markets Products and Solutions (CMPS) staff in the Markets dealing room where applicable.
- Support the Markets COO Cluster leads in the Cluster Conduct Forums.
- Support the Markets COO Cluster leads in product enablement through the Product Governance process.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
- Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
- Lead the Markets COO Clusters team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles FM Code of Conduct .
- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate
- University Degree (Finance /Banking Preferable)
- Certifications in Accounting, Financial risk manager qualification preferable but not mandatory
- 10+ years experience in business risk management
