They are practitioner focused and internationally oriented and are managed by former public service leaders from across the world and draw upon a wealth of practitioner experience and knowledge from our global network of experts. They have worked with governments in countries that span three continents, including Costa Rica, Zambia, Malawi, Kenya, India, the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam.
Founded in 2019, they are a young and mission-driven organisation. They are entrepreneurial and will strive to do their best to get things right the first time, but will quickly pivot if something does not work.
Role summary
The Manager (Corporate Communications) will support the senior management to review organisational-level strategies, including its business strategy, corporate strategy, and funding strategy. The candidate will also need to effectively communicate these strategies to internal and external stakeholders, including board members, donors and partners.
Some of the specific job responsibilities are listed below
Experience and Skillsets
- Support senior management to develop and review organisational-level strategies. To do so, the candidate will have to conduct research and environmental scanning, and to synthesise the information in alignment with the organization’s strategies.
- Support senior management to develop and maintain thier suite of documents in relation to those strategies. To do this well, the candidate will need to keep abreast of thier work, understand how these relate to thier core business, and communicate this clearly.
- Manage thier annual corporate planning process, including organisation of annual planning retreat and board meetings. As part of this, the candidate will also support the senior management to prepare relevant documents (e.g. “year-in-review” update to the Board).
- Organise meetings and convenings in relation to the development and communication of organisational-level strategies. This will involve administrative and logistical work.
- Support senior management to engage key stakeholders on areas related to thier organisational-level strategies, especially with funding strategy and donor engagement. This will involve preparing materials for these engagements (e.g. presentations, briefs, talking points, speech drafts, etc.), and in managing these engagements (e.g. arranging international travel, setting up meetings, note-taking, etc.).
- Maintain the organization’s website by curating relevant content and – together with thier vendors, consultants and designers – implement updates and revamps (where relevant) to the website.
Competencies and Experience
The candidate should have the following competencies:
- Strong analytical capabilities. The candidate must be comfortable working with abstract concepts, and breaking them down into intuitive components.
- Able to synthesise information from myriad different sources and string together relevant information into coherent strategies and narratives.
- Write clearly and fluently in English. The candidate will need to adapt his/her writing style depending on the intended audience.
- Develop high quality presentations, especially with regard to narrative building, for use by senior management.
- Adaptability. As a small and entrepreneurial organisation, it is important for all CIG staff to take on new roles and responsibilities as the situation may require.
A suitable candidate would have had at least 3 years of experience in any of the following areas:
- Strategic planning or corporate planning from MNC, Statboards or Public Service agencies
- Supporting senior management in a corporate strategy, planning or communications function

It is preferable, though not strictly necessary, for the candidate to have experience working in the public service.
