Job Description

KPMG Tax Services assists organisations with their tax compliance obligations and in enhancing their commercial value through tax planning, and incorporating tax strategies into an overall business strategy. Globalisation of businesses must be managed with international know-how and perspective. Through an in-depth understanding of our multinational clients' businesses and industries, KPMG Tax Services helps our clients identify tax-related challenges and opportunities.

The successful candidate will be:

• Advising clients on projects such as mergers and acquisitions, cross border transactions, corporate restructuring, initial public offerings, tax due diligence, tax rulings, tax incentives and tax risk management n the Infrastructure, government and healthcare, industrial manufacturing, consumer and retail industry
• Providing clients with tax efficient solutions which take into consideration sound knowledge of our clients’ businesses.
• Providing assistance and coordination for regional and/or global projects in various industries.

The ideal candidate should:

• Possess at least 5 - 8 years of relevant working experience in local corporate tax and/or international tax advisory
• Possess an accreditation by SIATP will be an added advantage.
• Possess a University degree and/or post-graduate qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business or Law.
• Have an outward-looking, people-oriented personality with great communication skills as well as an analytical mind, to work effectively in a team.

Tax Team

The Tax team supports organisations at every stage of the lifecycle – from structuring business tax effectively and managing any employment tax issues to transactional tax obligations and compliance. The team helps businesses develop strategies that help businesses understand and manage tax liabilities and risk in a transparent and ethical way.

The friendly and supportive tax team works collaboratively across various four main specialties – corporate tax, goods and services tax (GST), transfer pricing, and employer solutions and private clients. Job responsibilities

• Managing the delivery of corporate tax services
• Working with clients to understand business requirements
• Leading tax advisory and compliance services across industries
• Advising clients on restructuring exercises and cross-border transactions
• Identifying and following up on opportunities
• Working with Partners to identify business development opportunities
• Handling tax queries from the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore
• Acting as an engagement lead which includes planning, scheduling and budgeting of projects
• Conducting seminars on corporate tax topics for clients and staff
• Mentoring and managing junior tax staff
• Proactively reviewing and continuously improving the workflows

Qualifications and requirements

• Recognised Degree and/or relevant Professional Qualification
• Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals (SCTP) accreditation would be preferred
• Able to lead a team and have a strong understanding of corporate tax issues
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience
• Strong technical and analytical skills
• Strong leadership, communication (both written and spoken) and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to understand clients’ requirements and groom the team

• Assist with daily site operations, including the development and revision of site operating procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all building equipment

• Training given to candidate with no experience
• Building Management and Strata Management Act (BMSMA) and prior MCST operations experience will be big plus

• Look into the workflow, work processes and staff communciations to ensure operational efficiency.

• Assist in the planning of the doctors' roster to ensure smooth clinic operations.

• Co-ordinate doctors' leave to ensure adequate medical manpower at all times.

• Supervise the proper scheduling of patient load in the appointment system in accordance with doctors'/clinics' requirements.

• Ensure all doctors' training, attachment and sit in sessions are duly monitored, planned and updated

• Ensure all rooms are opened prior and load are listed based on norms.

• Oversee resource allocation and staff deployment within department.
