The Wealth Control Analyst is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. The Wealth Control team fosters a culture of control and customer centricity and accountability by leading efforts to identify, anticipate and mitigate regulatory, reputational, and operational risks. This role is responsible for supporting the business in the MCA Program through implementation of effective control design and monitoring strategies to create a robust, comprehensive, and sustainable risk and controls management and monitoring framework. You will also be performing business self-assessment testing on controls over various Wealth Sales and Distribution activities.
You will also collaborate with Regional and Country MCA coordinators and business process owners and support the identification, design, documentation and assessment of the quality of suites of Key Controls, Monitoring/Assessment mechanisms to mitigate significant operational risk types for Country Consumer.
As a First Line of Defense, you will need to build trusted relationships with Business Leaders, Process Owners, control colleagues as well as Second and Third Line partners.
This role is part of the Singapore Wealth Controls team and reports to Asia South Wealth Controls Head.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as MCA Coordinator for the Wealth Sales and Distribution Assessment Unit (AU) and support on MCA activities for other relevant AUs.
- Perform regular MCA testing and review on Controls Monitoring steps relating to Wealth Sales and Distribution activities.
- Work with SMEs to monitor and track embedding Key Automated Application Controls (KAACs), Regulatory Mandatory Addendum (RMA) and Digital Monitoring Tools (DMTs) within MCA.
- Track timely completion of key MCA activities by testers for the relevant AUs.
- Perform AU related activities such as mapping of issues to ARCMs, quality of documentation, quality of monitoring and testing.
- Participate in CitiRisk and Controls (CRC) system design initiatives including UATs and monitoring of key system related issues impacting users.
- Support Quarterly Risk Assessments (QRAs) and Annual Risk Assessments (ARAs) related activities for AUs.
- Assist in identifying automation opportunities from MCA data via data analytics and drive the execution of automation for controls and monitoring and embedding them into MCA.
- Where appropriate, assist with the development of thematic testing/assessment of Key Control suites based on Standard MCA Profile (SMP) and Enterprise MCA Profile (EMP) content.
- Drive a strong control culture and ensuring permanent controls readiness through proactive risk management and issue self-identification.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of relevant experience with strong strategic, analytical and project management skills
- Experience in Risk & Control or audit/advisory in a large financial institution or professional services firm.
- Experience using risk and control systems (i.e. CitiRisk and Controls)
- Strong understanding of Retail/Wealth Management/Insurance products
- Excellent presentation and communication skills in English, both oral and written, with the ability to articulate complex and sensitive issues to Senior Management.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple deliverables while working with minimal supervision in a large, global corporate environment
- Resourceful, meticulous and detail oriented
- Ability to work independently, interface and execute with a sense of urgency and to deliver on tasks effectively and efficiently
- Strong stakeholder management skills with an ability to influence, negotiate, persuade and adapt
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
