JOB SUMMARY

• Responsible for supporting the Global Credit Card Balance Growth strategies within the context of the wider global Credit Cards & Personal Loans (CCPL) strategy. This role will work closely with Group, Region and Country level stakeholders to design & implement balance growth and yield enhancement strategies to optimise financial and non financial results on the Existing to Product (ETP) global credit card portfolio.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy

• The role holder is responsible for leading the development of global Credit Card Portfolio Optimization strategies for Existing to Product (“ETP”) customers within the context of the wider global Credit Cards & Personal Loans (“CCPL”) strategy.
• This includes agreeing these strategies with the relevant group, region and country level stakeholders, along with associated financial and non-financial targets and periodically reviewing performance against these targets in line with the Group’s performance management framework.
• Country CCPL GMs are accountable for the CC ETP portfolio profitability and performance and the role holder is concurrently held accountable for the creation and implementation, as well as, financial and non-financial results of the recommended balance growth and pricing strategies for optimizing returns on the ETP global credit card portfolio.

Business

The role holder is accountable for developing, socializing and helping drive implementation of strategies for ETP Credit Card Portfolio returns, and for delivery technologies that satisfy the needs of the business, and are in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including:

• Leveraging advanced analytics and collaborating with risk teams to provide thought leadership on risk and pricing frameworks to enable markets to deploy portfolio management strategies that are EVA accretive and within risk appetite.
• Leveraging analytics and risk management teams and collaborating with regional and country teams to track portfolio performance at a granular level and identify opportunities for performance enhancement.
• Drive EVA accretive interest- bearing balance growth by setting portfolio standards and providing life cycle portfolio management tools including but not limited to cash transfers, balance transfers, EMI conversions of high value spends within and outside limits, credit limit increase etc.
• Conceptualize and work with technology and digital teams to deliver seamless sale and fulfilment of these features.
• Work closely with advanced analytics, risk and campaign delivery teams to ensure implementation, and an experimental test and learn environment to constantly enhance the impact of these strategies.
• Recommend and socialize enhancements to customer value propositions, product and pricing to ensure existing product profitability is in line with group hurdles.

The role holder is responsible for:

• Engagement with group policy owners and/or risk control owners for the implementation of policies and control standards set by them.
• Ensuring appropriate procedures and controls are in place to operate within the group credit and operational risk tolerance and appetite.
• Defining and driving global (versus local) regulatory and compliance standards for managing CC ETP customer strategic / campaign interventions, and working closely with markets to ensure they are met.
• Building the right conduct culture in managing ETP CC customer return optimization program initiatives.
• Deliver a framework for CC portfolio granular returns measurement to identify and act upon opportunities for return optimization, in compliance with all laws, regulations, rules, policies and the group conduct framework.

Job Description

Research Fellow position is open in the research group of Assistant Professor Zhao Lin, at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS).

The Research Fellow will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) on theories and applications of learning-based control. The project will investigate and develop both deep reinforcement learning algorithms and conventional robust adaptive control methods, to develop safety-critical learning-based control algorithms that leverage the advantages of both model-based and model-free methods. In particular, the developed algorithms will be demonstrated through robust control of drones.

The initial appointment duration is 12 months, which can then be extended based on an evaluation at the end of the initial appointment.

The candidates will be responsible for conducting theoretical research and algorithm development. The candidates are expected to help the PI supervise junior PhD students as well.

The candidates should have a Ph.D. degree from a reputable university, with expertise in robust adaptive control, reinforcement learning theory, collision-avoidance trajectory optimization, etc.

A successful candidate should have a solid mathematical background (such as in calculus, linear algebra, optimization, etc.). Strong publication records in leading journals and conferences are required.
