Service Engineer

(Communication, F&G Detection System and Control Instrumentation)

Responsibility:

• Attend site surveys when necessary to propose suitable solution to meet client's requirement.
• Electrical Installation supervision experience (electrical cable, DB and equipment installation).
• Provide service and commissioning the company's Fire & Gas detection system, Control and Instrumentation products and services.
• Promote company's products via the provision of professional and quality services.
• Ensure customer's satisfaction via the provision of prompt and efficient services to minimise the impact of company's products downtime on Customer's business operations.
• Engineering activities to ensure that services are carried out with minimum impact on company's business revenue.
• Ensure that customer requirements are adequately conveyed to the Service Manager.
• Provide guidance/ assist Service/Commissioning Engineers on service related tasks.
• Prepare service plan, identify, and recommend business opportunities to Service Manager.
• Prepare servicer reports upon job completion regarding the work, man-hour, spares.
• Ensure to work according to safety regulations.

Requirements

• Degree/ Diploma/ NITEC in Electrical & Eletcronics Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 2-3 years hands-on experience in service/commissioning of the following system: Fire & Gas detection system, software programming such as PLC, SCADA, HMI, etc
• Must be customer focused with the ability to effectively manage relationships with customers.
• Required to travek overseas onshore/offshore in short notice for service/commissioning/modification/upgrading of company supplied system.

We are looking for proactive marine service engineer who are familiar with 2-Stroke & 4-Stroke Engines, Engine Components Overhaul and maintenance, general mechanical dismantling and assembly works.

Job Description:

• Inspect, diagnose and troubleshoot and carryout repair, maintenance or reconditioning of marine engines 2 & 4 Stroke Main/Aux Engines, Crankshaft & Camshaft Replacement and other onboard machinery.
• Carry out removal and installation work onboard vessels and general servicing and repair in the workshop.
• Delegate the job to the relevant team members and adhere closely to the projected repair and manpower plan.
• Lead a team of service technicians and plan, organize and execute repairs, maintenance and reconditioning jobs onboard the vessels in shipyards, ports, anchorage or voyage and offshore.
• Take the necessary measurements and readings to provide a repair plan, estimated repair time, consumables, and raw materials required for the job.
• Keep accurate records of all repair and maintenance work performed on the engine, including any parts replaced or repaired.
• Hands on work in rectification of defects and maintenance of mechanical or diesel components.
• Interact with customers during the work execution.
• Perform internal and external progress status up-dates of the assigned work.
• Assist with the development and implementation of service procedures and policies.
• Monitor service performance metrics and work with the team to identify areas for improvement.
• Conduct training and development programs for technician to increase knowledge and skills in the field.
• Strictly adhere to safe work procedures and applicable laws, rules and regulations.
• Follow safety procedures and use proper protective equipment when working with engines and other equipment.
• Proactively consulting, advising, and promoting available PMax service and products to customer.
• Ensuring an adequate level of cleanliness, maintenance of tools and equipment in the workshop.
• Accomplish all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Marine or Engineering related field.
• At least 5 years relevant experience within the engine overhaul industry.
• Be able to work on board vessel's engine room environment, Shipyards, Anchorage etc and travel overseas for assignments.
• Excellent technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
• Possess positive and responsible attitude towards work.
• Able to work with other specialists of the same or lower skill level and successfully complete projects.
• Ability to work independently and minimal supervision.
• Ability to create internal and external work reports.
• Able to do overtime and work during weekends and public holidays for urgent repair jobs.
• Salary will commensurate according to experience & qualifications.

Overview of the role

As a Bioquell Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, qualification, validation, service, repair and calibration of a wide range of innovative bio-decontamination equipment, utilised within life sciences, healthcare and pharmaceutical environments. You will also take part in the execution of our unique Bio-decontamination services operated in Singapore and in the Asia-Pacific region.

Responsibilities

• To carry out planned maintenance and breakdown calls on customer’s equipment, in accordance with company procedures.
• To carry out all contract servicing as arranged with the service manager ensuring that the work programme is carried out.
• Follow product service, repair and installation method statements.
• To carry out all installation in accordance with relevant Standards, following all safety guidelines and instructions issued and as agreed with the client.
• To conduct end user training on operating of the company’s equipment.
• Execution of Bioquell bio-decontamination services in pharmaceutical facilities, laboratories and hospitals.
• Record all information of work carried out electronically or on the appropriate Service Report, ensuring the customer or authorised representative approves the work completed as acceptance that work has been carried out to their satisfaction to GMP standards.
• To carry out work in Singapore or in the Asia-Pacific region as required.
• Act as a Bioquell representative with their customers.

Key skills required for the position

• Strong background in electro mechanical principals, with preferably experience with Siemens PLC, HMI and printed circuit board.
• Be able to demonstrate a very good understanding of electro mechanical systems and products as well as strong technical diagnostic skills.
• Good communication and organisational skills are essential as is the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
• A positive, flexible and results orientated approach.
• The candidate should be able to work autonomously and demonstrate good decision qualities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and in particular the ability to interact well in English.
• Experiences in pump or sensor calibration, pressure testing and HEPA filter testing would be an added advantage.
• Diploma / Degree holder in Engineering with minimum 2 years working experience in life sciences, healthcare or pharmaceutical industries.
• May occasionally be required to work on weekends to meet customer’s schedule.
• Frequent travel in the Asia-Pacific region is to be expected.

Salary Information

• 5.5-day work week (Monday – Saturday)
• Working hours
  9am to 6.00pm (Monday)
  9am to 1.00pm (Saturday)
• Basic Salary: S$2000-2200 / month
