Biospringer APAC is seeking an entry-level Finance & Data Analyst to support the Asia Pacific business.

This position is a key member of our Biospringer APAC team and Biospringer Finance team and will work in close collaborations with cross functional teams in APAC, China and France.

It includes 3 main responsibilities.

Reporting:
• To coordinate monthly closing activities with entities producing for and selling on APAC markets to ensure compliance with BIOSPRINGER & Group reporting procedures
• To analyse, prepare and consolidate the monthly reporting at BIOSPRINGER APAC level
• To conduct analysis to understand variances between budget/forecast and actual performance/results
• To perform margin analysis

Budgeting and Forecasting
• To coordinate budgeting and forecasting processses and activities at BIOSPRINGER APAC level in accordance with Group and BIOSPRINGER Budget guidance,
• To analyse, prepare and consolidate Budget at BIOSPRINGER APAC level for discussion with BIOSPRINGER Global team

Business Support
• To take charge of cross-functional projects aimed at optimizing BIOSPRINGER APAC results and to ensure regular monitoring
• To monitor profitability per product / customer and be part of pricing management with Marketing team
• To be a business partner to the Sales team, and Sales admin team, in case of overdue
• To support accuracy of our S&OP forecast thanks to Sales data analysis
• To ensure transfer price rules follows Group guideline
• To actively participate and deploy the Group's procedures & projects at the regional level
• To coordinate and support compliance project if needed
• To support BIOSPRINGER and Group’s enhancement initiatives / programs launched on BIOSPRINGER APAC scope

Job Description

SIA has multiple positions for junior and senior data scientists to drive our AI, data science and business analytics initiatives.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Member of an in-house AI and data science development team that works on AI (including areas in generative AI, autonomous agent, NLP, computer vision and recommender system), mathematical optimization, game theory, and experimental design.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to create impactful and intelligent features/services in AI, data science and data analytics. Propose and build scalable ML/DL solutions. Deploy them as API microservices for use by software applications and business users for faster and more effective decision making.
• Oversee the technical work of external technology partners and provide them datasets to deliver products/services in AI and data science. Support business users in the assessment/ validation of partner-supplied prediction models and in their deployment to production cloud.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or related discipline is required. PhD and MS degrees related to machine learning and other AI disciplines are preferred.
• Intermediate programming skills in Python. Conversant with algorithm design/analysis, data structure and SQL. Familiarity with functional/object-oriented software development using modern programming languages such as Scala, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java and C# is a plus.
• Exposure in the use of workflow/map-reduce and stream processing systems such as Spark and Kafka for big-data processing.
• Relevant internship or industry experience as a hands-on data scientist/AI engineer in shallow and/or deep learning (you should be very comfortable with most topics covered in the free undergraduate textbook by Gareth James, “An Introduction to Statistical Learning – with Applications in Python”, 2023). Additional exposure in some of the following areas is a plus:

The Aviation Innovation Research (AIR) Lab

The joint CAAS-Thales innovation lab known as ‘AIR Lab’ started to operate on 1st November 2019 with the objective to develop Proof of Concepts (POCs) or Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) of advanced and open technologies for future Air Traffic Management (ATM). Currently, the joint lab employs a team of 40 Thales engineers and 12 CAAS engineers and air traffic controllers operating in a vibrant ecosystem involving a number of Singaporean SMEs and start-ups, as well as key research institutes.

Thales engineers include 10 domain experts – with more than 10 years of experience – coming from Thales ATM centers of competence in France and Australia. These experts are coaching both the local Thales and CAAS engineers. 

The POCs and MVPs are co-developed with the CAAS engineers who have access to the same development tools and environment used by the Thales Engineers (provided by the Singapore branch of Thales Digital Factory). The POCs and MVPs are defined in collaboration with CAAS air traffic controllers through iterative workshops.

AIR Lab research outcomes will feed the next generation of products, including clearly disruptive outcomes addressing Safety and Security for Open architecture, data driven ATM Twin, Green Aviation, Trajectory Based Operations. 

As the AIR Lab was recently extended for another 3 years, 4 work streams are now embarked: Regional Experimental Platform, FF-ICE/TBO, Green Aviation, Future-proof Interoperable Platform-Agnostic, Safe and Secure Platforms. Job Requirements

• At least 1-3 years of experience working in a BI or analytics function preferably.
• Good working knowledge on SQL and R/Python to perform data querying, building BI models and conducting data analysis.
• Experience in data analysis and deep-dive analysis
• Strong data visualisation skills using Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI, Microstrategy or other relevant visualisation tools.
• Good understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and their relevant use cases
• Experience in gathering BI requirements and structuring specifications to produce business-relevant datasets and ensure data quality of the dataset.
• Passion for democratizing data effectively to the wider organization for self-serve
• Keenness to innovate and improve the BI process beyond basic reporting, seeking ways to add value so that the organisation can consume data more effectively.
• Strong communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with both sides of the business and technical divide.
• A self-starter mindset who takes ownership and excels in a lean and fast-paced organisation.
• Knowledge of Statistics & Machine Learning is a plus.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Conducting advanced statistical analyses on large datasets to extract meaningful insights and trends.
• Developing and implementing machine learning models to solve business problems and improve decision-making processes.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
• Presenting findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
• Work on projects and initiatives related to data analysis and machine learning.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, mathematics, data analytics, or related fields.
• Minimum of two (2) years of applied experience with machine learning on large datasets.
• At least two (2) years of relevant work or industrial experience in statistical data analysis.
• Strong proficiency in statistical software (e.g., Python, R, Scala), database languages (e.g., SQL), visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik Sense), big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Hive), and deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven leadership skills and experience in managing senior stakeholders.
