About The Team

The batch processing team is responsible for the company's offline data processing and distributed training, supporting various business scenarios such as offline ETL and machine learning within the company. The components involved include the offline computing engine Spark, the in-house distributed training framework Primus, feature storage solutions like Iceberg and Hudi, as well as Ray, a next-generation distributed application framework. Faced with massive-scale scenarios, extensive functional and performance optimizations have been carried out in Spark, Primus, Feature Store, and support for the adoption of the new-generation distributed application framework Ray in relevant company scenarios.

What you will be doing:

- Responsible for the development and performance optimisation of the in-house Feature Store functionality based on Iceberg;

- Participant in optimisation of the integration of Iceberg with various upper-level computing engines;

Direct Responsibilities

• Contribute to relevant personal data protection activities realization
• Guarantee required norms and methods definition and application to a company’s good data protection risks apprehension (follow-up of projects, information systems adaptation, declarations conception and maintenance, subcontractors contracts analysis, follow-up on control plans reporting, etc.)

Supporting Responsibilities

• Assist the DPO on exchanges with the authorities in charge of the protection of personal data under the responsibility of the DPO

• Contribute to role development by validating data protection requirements for new activities, new products, services or specific operations, and to carry technical assistance
• Receive, process and advise internal and external local solicitations about data protection
• Receive, process and advise requests from data subjects, subcontractors and partners etc.
• Itemise existing processes and identify breaches regarding data protection requirements (APAC local regulation & GDPR requirements)
• Contribute to perform risk assessment on personal data breaches
• Assist the DPO in monitoring documentation, e.g. the RoPA (Register of Processing Activities)
• Contribute to the identification and notification process for data protection violations according to defined procedures and local legal requirements

Job Requirements:

• Degree holder in legal, business or computer science or IT
• At Least 5 years of relevant experience in IT risk, Cyber security, Data Protection and related regulatory topics
• CIPP Certification or similar privacy certificate would be a plus
• Good understanding of EU GDPR with IAPP/E certification
• 3-5 years relevant working experience in privacy is a minimum
• 5-8 years of total working experience
• Previous APAC or cross-territory experience preferred
• Experience in senior level reporting and discussion

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineering Lead to oversee the data engineering team in NUS.

The role will be responsible for leading and guiding teams in the development of high-quality data lakehouse, ensuring they meet business needs and align with NUS strategic goals. The role will also ensure the proper implementation across all stages of the data lifecycle

This role will manage a team of 6 data engineers handling ELT/ETL framework and end-to-end data pipelines from various source systems to data lakehouse with a plan for future growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role and the candidate should have been on active hands-on development at least 5 years prior.

Technical Expertise
• Participate in the technical design of data platforms and their technologies, including their framework, architecture, standards, and guidelines.
• Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team, helping to solve complex technical challenges.

• Proven ability to lead data engineering teams, promoting collaboration and achieving project objectives.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with a proven track record of effectively addressing technical challenges and risk mitigation.
• Strong knowledge of quality assurance processes, encompassing testing methodologies, and quality control procedures.
• Relevant experience in designing, developing, and supporting data lakehouse and data engineering solutions.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of management, users, and vendors.

Technical Expertise
• Strong working experience in end-to-end development of data lakes and data warehouses, preferably with experience in Informatica.
