As a Data Engineer at ClearWind, you will play a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of our innovative geospatial data system. This system is vital to ClearWind’s data operations, encompassing two Linux virtual machines (VMs) and API connections to numerous internal software tools. Your primary focus will be on creating and ensuring a seamless data integration between Google Earth Engine analysis and the R server, a critical component of our VMs.

You will be entrusted with the crucial task of managing data flow from field operations to headquarters, architecting and refining the central geospatial data system, and processing project data in line with Verra VCS methodologies and CCB Standards. Duties

· Lead the development and optimization of virtual machine-based data and software infrastructure on Google Cloud for the specific purpose of processing carbon emissions data and conducting sophisticated data analysis.

· Collaborate with the members of the GIS team to perform analysis on Google Earth Engine (GEE) to extract relevant geospatial data; Integrate geospatial datasets to extract and monitor carbon emissions data over time.

· Translating VCS Verra Methodologies into a cloud-based system that and either be given an interface to receive and process raw field data or be used to input minimum screening criteria for a project for initial scoping and feasibility assessments.

· Design and deploy robust data ingestion pipelines using programming languages Python and R to ensure the seamless integration of diverse data sources, including GIS and statistical datasets.

· Host and manage Linux VMs, including multiple servers and applications using Docker.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the data centre operation in Data Centers to support the IT infrastructure operation. Ensures the batch operation operates effectively and efficiently.

1. Strategies and improve the operation and SOP.

2. Manage data centre batch operation for both Mainframe and Open system to ensure jobs are monitored, trigger timely and escalated timely if there are any issues.

3. Manage and support data centre tools upgrade.

4. Support the automation initiative to remove manual task and improve turnaround time.

5. Involve in the product development of Operation Dashboard

6. Experience in using OPC to schedule jobs and API tasks.

7. Mandatory skill - must have experiences in manage, perform and monitor (must hands-on and not facilitating) batch operation/job for Mainframe.

Deliverables

1. No high audit findings or issue.

2. No major operation issues.

3. Consistently review, plan and improve the current operation model.

Goals and Objective

1. Achieve the above deliverables.

2. Implement and deployed projects/tools if any.

Responsibilities: 

• Implement Data SRE best practices to enhance the reliability, availability, and performance of our data infrastructure. 
• Drive data operational excellence by introducing data system observability which includes monitoring, logging, and alerting. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineering, analytics, and other IT teams to understand data system requirements and deliver effective solutions. 
• Monitor and troubleshoot data-related incidents, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure quick resolution.

• Experience in incident response for tech-related incidents

Responsibilities

• Comprehend requirements for extraction of specific data from unstructured clinician's notes and be responsible for the complete life cycle of NLP model development, from problem definition and data collection to model training, validation, and deployment.
• Work on developing NLP models in collaboration with junior data scientists which encompasses code review, maintenance of code repositories and code/ model versioning.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, clinicians, and product managers, to integrate NLP solutions into broader systems and applications.
• Responsible for creating material including model insights, use cases and publications as required by managers, and ensuring scientific rigor in model development.

What We're Looking For

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science,Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Bioengineering or related fields from recognised institutes.
• Proven work experience of 3+ years in handling NLP projects.
• Proficient in Python/SQL, solid programming skills.
• Candidate with at least 3 to 4 years of experience in handling end to end NLP projects.
• Proven hands-on experience in pre-training, fine-tuning of large language models like BERT, GPT, Llama etc. for NLP tasks like information extraction, NER and text classification.
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment pipelines for machine learning/deep learning models.
• Good working knowledge of tools and frameworks, including but not limited to TensorFlow, PyTorch, AWS, MLOps, Docker, Lang Chain Agents, and other relevant technologies.
• Candidate who can stay abreast of the latest advancements in NLP and related tools and integrate them into the development process when applicable.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with generative AI and other specialized NLP techniques like prompt engineering, RAG etc.
• Knowledge of best practices in model explainability and interpretability especially in healthcare/biomedical domain.
