RESPONSIBILITIES

The principal engineer will be responsible on the daily maintenance and operation of the BE Shared Service infra system. The duties include: -

• Install, configure and support Storage, Servers and Blades system Infrastructure.
• Maintain and support of Video and Audio recording system.
• Maintain and support MS SQL and MySQL Database.
• Maintain and support Aspera File Transfer Servers.
• Design, management and maintenance of virtualise infrastructure.
• Conduct regular patches of all managed systems.
• Support Windows Servers OS and RHEL and Ubuntu Linux operating systems.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Provide support to user on IT system infrastructure running Windows and Linux platforms.
• Administrate and support of Active Directory and DNS.
• Maintain and support Backup and System monitoring infrastructure.
• Respond promptly on incidents and provide support requests.
• Maintain and support of files transfer and provide support to end users.
• Maintain, upgrade and monitor of on premises virtual infrastructure.
• Conduct regularly patches and ensure all system are patched in a timely manner.
• Provide support to Cloud-based infrastructure.
• Undertaking projects or ad-hoc tasks as required.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science / Computer Engineering or related subject.
• 10+ years working experience in IT support or a related field.
• Professional in IT Certifications such as MCSA, RHCSA, VCP, ITIL, SAA-C03 will be added advantage.
• Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good working experience with Windows Active Directory, PKI and DNS Server.
• Experience in Cisco Unified Computing System and switching Fabric.
• Possess strong knowledge of virtualization in VMWare and Microsoft Hyper-V.

Job Description

• Oversee the entire ICA design process, from concept to implementation, ensuring project is delivered on time, within specifications and meeting industrial standards.
• Lead and mentor a team of ICA engineers and ensuring the quality in design work.
• Oversee the development of control logic, CMS programming, HMI interfaces, and Sub-Control systems, ensuring seamless communication and synchronisation of control components.
• Oversee the selection of instrumentation, sensors, and transmitters for accurate data acquisition, measurement, and feedback control.
• Oversee the configuration and deployment of the Control Monitoring System for seamless process control and integration of subsystems.
• Ensure ICA designs adhere to relevant safety standards (such as SIL, IEC 61511) and cybersecurity protocols to mitigate operational risks.
• Collaborate with process team to optimise the processes through intelligent control strategies, adaptive algorithms, and data-driven insights.
• Coordinate validation activities, including factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT), to ensure systems meet performance criteria.
• Develop RFQ and collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source components, equipment, and systems required for ICA and ensuring they meet quality and performance standards.
• Oversee testing and commissioning of the CMS, coordinating with process team to ensure system operate as intended.
• Ensure clear and consistent communication with project client and consultant throughout the project, providing updates, addressing concerns and managing expectations.
• Manage ICA design budgets, including cost estimation, resource allocation, and cost control.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical, Process Control & Instrumentation, Automation Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• 15 years of relevant ICA engineering experience in the planning, design, SAT/FAT and construction of major waste to energy, water, wastewater, process plant projects or similar major industrial projects. The Design Lead has robust experience in managing a team of suitably experienced Design Engineers and Technicians and interfacing with Client, Suppliers and Subcontractors.
• Familiar with code of practice and standards in Singapore
• Experience with Revit/AutoCAD Plant 3D preferred & in other related design software/applications.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Willingness to take on responsibility and work overtime to meet deadlines.
• Extensive hands-on experience in designing and implementing complex ICA systems in industrial environments.
• Proficiency in programming languages for PLCs (e.g., ladder logic, structured text) and HMI/DCS systems is advantageous.
• In-depth knowledge of control system architectures, such as DCS and PLC-based systems.
• Familiar with industry standards and protocols (e.g., OPC-UA, Modbus, HART, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
• Strong understanding of process control theory, PID tuning, and adaptive control strategies.
• Experience with functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508, IEC 61511) and cybersecurity best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex technical issues.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to guide technical discussions and collaborate with diverse teams.
• Good technical understanding of water, wastewater and WTE related control system.
• Relevant experience in design and site work for water, wastewater treatment and WTE works.

Job Description

• Project execution covering during design, construction and testing and commission works for water and wastewater treatment works or process plant engineering and construction works.
• Preferably for those whose have experience in water and sewerage pumping station including pipe laying works.
• Coordination with Client, Consultant, Client Site Technical Representative(s), Subcontractors and Suppliers during project execution.
• Basic Mechanical Work Design in water and wastewater treatment plants and pumping station and pipeline including knowledge in ACMV, FP Works.
• Preparation and submission of Mechanical Technical particular to Consultant/Client and following up on technical submission till its approval/acceptance by Consultant/Client.
• Control and monitoring of mechanical work progress with Sub Contractors and suppliers on the mechanical technical documentation and physical work deliverables.
• Assisting PM on progressive monthly claim and payment response matters with Sub Contractors and Suppliers.
• Coordination with Project QS/PM for establishing of contractual scope of mechanical works and its technical requirements and participating in calling of quotation and assists Procurement Team during awarding of Sub Contract/Supply Contract.
• Preparation of O&M Manual and As Built drawings for handing over to client.
• Support M&E Manager/PM for project schedule or manpower arrangements.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Qualification must be recognized by the Professional Engineers Board, Singapore).
• At least 3 years of working experience in plant construction fields and preferably in Water and Wastewater Industries in Singapore or in South East Asia Region.
• Good knowledge of Design/Coordination and the Code of Practices and its requirements such as American Standard, British Standard and Singapore Standards.
• Good knowledge relevant software: Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
• Knowledge of CAD, BIM, Project Scheduling will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Installation and commissioning of machining centres or EDM machines with complexity at customer site.
