About The Role

The Crux Lead INLEC/Production Technician is a dual trade role which is a critical position within the operations team being established which focused on delivery from Execute phase, culminating in a successful Start-up and CRUX Project to Asset handover through to operations. A major part of the role will also be to train and mentor future staff to facilitate interventions on Crux from Prelude.

The Lead INLEC/PRODUCTION Technician roles and responsibilities will differ between the different phases of the Project Cycle leading up to operations.

IN THE EXECUTE PHASE:

- Work with the Training department to set up competence and training requirements.

The research is on transforming food waste into digestates containing active biomolecules to enhance vegetable growth. Utilizing anaerobic digestion, we aim to recover essential nutrients such as N, P and K from food waste and integrate them into waste-derived hydrogel/biochar for optimal vegetable cultivation, thereby closing the waste loop in farming practices.

The specific aims are:

1. To release nutrients from food waste through anaerobic digestion and optimize the co-digestion process with waste-derived hydrogels.
2. To recover nutrients from the digestate to produce a novel biofertilizer.
3. To develop a prototype of an integrated food waste nutrient recovery system for pilot-scale testing.
