Roles & Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Manage site activities, vendors and sub-contractors

· Attend meeting, coordination, prepare works schedule & site supervision

· Supervise construction and civil , mechanical, piping and steel structures on site.

· Interpret and implement construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.

· Review project specifications, technical clarifications, and construction drawings

· Carry out works scheduling, material requisition, cost control, project supervision, and documentation

· Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues or deviations from plans

· Ensure timely and smooth progress of works

· Responsible for all aspects of site safety

· Collaborate with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project.

· Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.

· Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.

· Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.

· Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies.

· Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities

Requirements:

· Preferably with min 3 years working experience

· Proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledge of AUTOCAD

· Independent, diligent and highly motivated with excellent team spirit

· Willing to work overtime including weekends and public holidays when necessary

Job Description

• Assist Chief Engineer in supervising, coordinating and directing the activities of the Engineering staff and in administration of the Engineering Department.
• Assist Chief Engineer in overseeing facade project and implementing maintenance and repair of all machinery, equipment, apparatus and fixtures and preventive maintenance programs in the Hotel.
• Assist Chief Engineer in preparing and update the work schedules of all Engineering staff including their shifts, days off, medical leave and annual leave.
• Submit daily activities report on operations, repair, maintenance and special projects. Keep accurate records of machine breakdowns, repairs and operating costs.
• Assist Chief Engineer to up-date & follow up on submission of PUB WEMP, Lift PTO and Government application & submission.
• Check and follow up on out-of-order rooms to be released soonest possible.
• Prepare list of replacement parts to be ordered and conduct inventory up-date.
• Assist Chief engineer in Fire Safety training including ERP, SCDF
• Annual CERT team Audit inspection and Fire Cert Inspection.
• Ensure that fire and safety procedures are carried out at all times.
• Be fully familiar with the Emergency Procedures as established by the Hotel.
• Ensure and comply with all the rules, regulations and policies of the Department and the Hotel.
• Perform other duties as directed.

The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:

• A good degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field. Masters, PhD and/or relevant professional certifications would be advantageous
• Deep technical specialist with 10 or more years of working experience in the Chemical Process Technology field would be preferred
• Operational Knowledge in unit operations (for e.g. Heat Exchanger, Distillation Column, Reactors, Cooling Tower etc)
• Practical knowledge of Quality Management Systems and Engineering standards including but not limited to ISO9001, OSHA and BSI etc
• Practiced in Chemical Process Design software (for e.g. HYSYS)
• Extensive experience and knowledge of industry practices to bring industry perspective to the University
• Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems
• Strong supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment.

• Assisting in setting up the test equipment for production and engineering team.
• Handle all Test & Backend Equipment sustaining i.e. Bench, ATE, Handlers, Thermostream, ICOS, Laser Mark, etc.

Requirements:

• Nitec in Electronics / Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Biomedical, Mechatronics
• At least 2 years of relevant working experience
• Able to work from 7am - 7pm
