The Coastal Protection and Flood Management Research Programme (CFRP) aims to advance knowledge in coastal and flood resilience and spur the growth of a vibrant research and development ecosystem for coastal and flood resilience in Singapore.

The (CFRP) research framework consists of four vertical programmes in which applied research is conducted to generate new knowledge and develop novel, effective, smart solutions for coastal protection and flood management. The framework has three horizontal programmes of broad outcomes that inform and support the verticals. We are looking for a Research Fellow, based in School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), to work effectively for advancing the engineering solutions to develop a new Eco-cement enhanced method to form a barrier for coastal protection and land restoration for Singapore and beyond. The role will focus on performing independent and collaborative research to meet the project objectives, developing new solutions, and publishing high-quality journal papers to promote the international reputation of the Centre and the University.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth research on advanced environmentally friendly materials suitable for coastal barrier design and construction, considering durability, environmental impact, and cost-effectiveness.

Job Description & Requirements

· Ensure timely generation and issuance of NDT report on daily basis.

· The inspector/team lead / engineer will perform inspections applying various NDT techniques in accordance with applicable specific code, procedure, and or written criteria.

To be successful in this position, you must have the ability to demonstrate or possess:

· Minimum 3 years of experience in UT, MT, PT, ET, RT and RI.

· Must be a PCN Level 2 or ISO Level II in the above NDT methods.

Job Description

• Review and interpret all relevant drawings, specifications and reports;
• Handle full scope of Quantity Surveyor duties which includes material take-off and variations i.e. Structural works; Piping works; Electrical and Instrumental works; Mechanical and Equipment works; Painting works
• Able to understand the Project contract documents and inform and assist site team for the cost estimate for any additional works
• Prepare the commercial tenders, including material take-off, preparation of BQs and technical queries
• Analyse tender pricing and prepare contractors’ bill of quantities
• Manage all related stakeholder liaison activities with a range of interested parties i.e. contractors, subcontractors, consultants and authorities on the project including but not limited to Contracts & Legal Department, Engineering Department and External Consultants;

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Quantity Survey, Engineering (Mechanical/Civil).

RESPONSIBILITY
