We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Assistant - Mechanical (ESD) to join the Singapore Office of a growing engineering consulting business, under our Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) team, led by one of our Technical Director who was conferred the SGBC-BCA Professional Leadership in Sustainability Award.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will primarily be responsible for:

· Design including calculation of details in conjunction with the Senior Engineers. The conceptual design will either be done by the Senior Engineers or will on small jobs discussed for Designer execution.

· Prepare M&E drawings in AutoCAD or BIM, 3-D models and computer simulation.

· Control drawing co-ordination and quality to ensure that drawings issued are properly prepared and issued.

· Prepare drawing lists at project onset (for planning and programming) and maintain them to monitor progress against programme through design phases, assist Senior Engineers to ensure agreed programme dates are met.

· Prepare draft contract Instructions, progress payment certificates, and process variation orders where appropriate.

· Attend meetings and site inspections as requested by Senior Engineers.

· Ensure authorities submission drawings are correctly prepared and ensure that drawings are updated during construction.

· Coordination on drawings and documentation for submission to Authorities.

Key Requirements

· Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Building Services/Sustainable Built Environment from recognised institution.

· Ability to develop and prepare drawings by engineers with minimal input and produce practical buildable details with proficiency in Autocad and BIM.

· Excellent in both written and verbal communication skills.

· A team player; able to interact and work well with colleagues.

Competence Requirements

Job Description

• Ensure and maintain in site co-ordination of housekeeping and safety activities for the concerned modules with various disciplines
• Liaise with Project Lead / Superintendent to understand and follow up of the project schedules. Expedite the equipment installation works to achieving targeted progress
• Updating and reporting project progress reports and plan for one week look ahead of activities to be completed
• Assist in manpower and resource scheduling and deployment, daily manpower deployment and allocation
• Attend daily VSCC meeting
• Obtain hot work permit and entry into confined space permits or any other work permit system
• Monitor job progress and ensure quality work at targeted schedule
• Prepare reports on job status, work completion and report to the Project Engineer
• Lead all inspections and ensure proper handling over to clients
• Liaise and coordinate with other departments on project issues
• Able to provide guidance and training to subordinates in the course of work
• Ensure that his workers are trained and instructed on the proper and safe working procedures
• Maintain safe and healthy working environment in workplace and to ensure correct safety practices are adopted by all men under his charge

Job Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of maintenance working experience in Marine Shipyard
• Excellent written and good communicative skills, able to interact with people of all levels and teamwork
• Able to handle mechanical equipment installation on FPSO module, load test and preservation of valves, instruments and mechanical equipment
• Flange management on piping will be a plus point

Authorities and Responsibilities

To interpret technical drawing and performing machining, sheetmetal process and requirement to produce the work piece.
To perform machine code programming with 3D modelling/knowledge of Auto Cad, solid works, others.
To operate, set up parts and producing parts as per drawing specification..
Guiding and providing operator/machinist with basic instruction in operating the machines.
Design jigs & fixtures for machining, sheetmetal, Robot welding process and good knowledge in understand of manufacturing aspect include re-design.
To responsible of all production mechanical related product matter and troubleshoot on dimensions non-conformance, and provide corrective actions and remedy.
To participate in Mfg/Production Engineering activities to improve quality process, waste, efficiency and cost.
To participate in failure analysis, recommend appropriate corrective/preventive technical action (if any).
To perform other similar or related duties as directed by superior from time to time
Competence Requirement:-

1. Min. ITE-NTEC/Diploma/Degree level PE/ME/Mfg/Mechatronics or its related discipline.

2. Fresh graduate/ Degree or 3-5 years in relevant experience in related field

3. Able to interpret technical drawings, and having machining knowledge.

4. Possess good analytical, verbal or written and interpersonal skills

This position is for PaxOcean Group, a company under Kuok (Singapore) Limited.

Position Summary

Independently to develop and apply hull design including hull outfit and knowhow on marine and offshore vessel to comply
with Class and Technical specification requirements.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Familiar with new technologies on marine and offshore field, such as structural health monitoring and ect.
• Perform concept and basic/detail design adopting relevant and up to date technologies
• Perform FE analysis using FEMAP
• Perform naval architecture calculations such as stability/hydrostatic, weight distribution, launching
• Generate basic & detail design document (arrangement & detail structure drawings and outfitting drawing and etc.) in
• compliance with Class/Statutory/Owner requirement
• Perform structural calculation, rudder calculation and design
• Generate technical specification for marine/machinery equipment
• Perform technical evaluation of hull outfitting equipment such as deck cranes, winches etc
• Prepare detailed compartment layouts, space coordination and integration with other disciplines.
• Liaise with other inter-discipline designers for design integration
• Liaise with Owner/ Vendor/ External Design Institute for the specific design requirement and development
• Liaise with Class Society to determine the design requirement

Job Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience in the marine/offshore industry Hull & Outfitting newbuilding engineering design.
• Familiar on Structural Hull & Outfitting design.
• Familiar with Rules and Regulation and Statutory Requirements.
• Familiar with AutoCAD/ MS Office/ AVEVA.
