ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Direct and coordinate the process engineering group activities in the design, development, implementation and improvement of systems, processes, and product assembly.
• Provide planning, direction, and coordination for all process activities to ensure optimum use of workers, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Plan and establish process engineering projects and follow up on performance against estimates.
• Troubleshooting Manufacturing issues to identify root cause and work with respective stake holders to resolve them.
• Initiate cost reduction proposals, compile appropriate information, make recommendations for action, and confirm results obtained.
• Manage, through process and procedure, the implementation of product design changes.
• Be responsible for the identification, source selection, installation, validation, training, and implementation of new equipment and new processes.
• Ensure active consultation with new product development teams regarding manufacturing capabilities and issues related to design for manufacturability, test, and assembly.
• Assist in the preparation of new product cost estimates.
• Define the technical training in manufacturing techniques, methods and processes provided to manufacturing associates.
• Actively seek knowledge of new manufacturing technologies, methods, and techniques.

Minimum requirements

Qualifications

1. Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related fields with a minimum of 6 years of experience working in protein/enzyme engineering in industrial settings or similar environment. MSc with significant relevant experience will be considered.
2. Demonstrated success in leading or managing projects in protein/enzyme engineering with a team of 5 or more members is essential.
3. Extensive experience in advanced molecular biology for protein and enzyme engineering such as directed evolution and large-scale variant library construction, adept at leveraging cutting-edge methods such as in-silico design, machine learning, high-throughput screening, and enzyme characterization.
4. Strong scientific and analytical skills are necessary. Candidates should have the ability to efficiently multitask, prioritize tasks effectively, and bring projects to successful conclusions.

• Liaise with Engineers, RTO, sub-contractors on day-to-day operations and technical issues.
• Supervise construction of structural & architectural works as per drawings / details.
• Ensure work done compliance with design, specifications, safety requirements and related local statutory regulations.
• Ensure good quality of works and manage defects rectifications.
• Monitoring the site progress as per targeted schedules.
• Reporting to Project Manager / Site Manager on site progress status.
• Assist in the materials order, receipt and control of all material on site.
• Responsible for the day to day, safe and efficient operation of the construction activities on site.
