Review the inspection history to summarize the integrity status of the plant equipment and piping systems.

The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) invites applications for the position of Project Officer. The candidate will have the opportunity to explore his/her own interests across functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and characterize novel biodegradable, biocompatible materials and tissue scaffolds with controlled drug/gene/cell delivery capabilities for soft tissue engineering & stem cell engineering.
• Design, optimize and fabricate tissue scaffolds (e.g. hydrogels, injectable scaffolds, electrospinning, 3D printing)
• Characterize scaffold properties: physical, chemical characteristics, drug/gene release kinetics, cell/tissue interactions, etc.
• Design and execute experiments independently.
• Expected to interpret experimental results, and author papers in high-quality journals in areas that are related to the research.
• Work closely with the Principal Investigator to help supervise and train junior lab members and to ensure smooth functioning of an active research program.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering with relevant background and experience.
• Published experience in biomaterials scaffold design, fabrication and characterization, controlled drug/gene delivery design and characterization. Evaluation of cellular response/interactions/functionality with scaffolds using western blotting, immunostaining, qPCR, fluorescent microscopy (confocal) imaging, functional assays.
• Experience in 3D printing is a plus.
• Strong ability to communicate effectively orally and in written form.

· Ensure timely generation and issuance of NDT report on daily basis.

· The inspector/team lead / engineer will perform inspections applying various NDT techniques in accordance with applicable specific code, procedure, and or written criteria.

· Minimum 3 years of experience in UT, MT, PT, ET, RT and RI.

· Must be a PCN Level 2 or ISO Level II in the above NDT methods.

Job Description

• Review and interpret all relevant drawings, specifications and reports;
• Handle full scope of Quantity Surveyor duties which includes material take-off and variations i.e. Structural works; Piping works; Electrical and Instrumental works; Mechanical and Equipment works; Painting works
• Able to understand the Project contract documents and inform and assist site team for the cost estimate for any additional works
• Prepare the commercial tenders, including material take-off, preparation of BQs and technical queries
• Analyse tender pricing and prepare contractors’ bill of quantities
• Manage all related stakeholder liaison activities with a range of interested parties i.e. contractors, subcontractors, consultants and authorities on the project including but not limited to Contracts & Legal Department, Engineering Department and External Consultants;
• Prepare monthly progress claims to client
• Manage subcontractor and vendor claims

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Quantity Survey, Engineering (Mechanical/Civil).

RESPONSIBILITY
