In this position, you will join our Infrastructure business, where you will play an integral part in a team of highly skilled specialists that ‘bring ideas to life’ for our clients across all types of building and infrastructure projects. • Undertake geotechnical engineering design and analysis on infrastructure construction projects, and be able to deliver solutions to complex problems
• Lead and delegate tasks within a workgroup
• Possess initiative to resolve tasks or problems that arise during design and construction stages
• Prepare detailed design reports and presentation to clients
• Work independently and have excellent communication skills with project team-mates as part of a team

What can you bring to the team?

Firstly, you will share our genuine passion for re-imagining engineering and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future. You will also need the following:

• Minimum 8 to 15 years professional experience in engineering consulting specialising in geotechnical engineering
• Recognised Civil / Geotechnical Engineering qualification (Bachelor/Master’s Degree)
• Proven technical proficiency and experience in geotechnical and foundation design and analysis on infrastructure and underground construction projects in Singapore, including tunnelling, foundations and ERSS – permanent and temporary works.
• Sound understanding and application of Singapore design codes and local practices and commonly used geotechnical analysis software including Plaxis, and professional experience in the application of Eurocodes
• A proven ability to be able to understand the ground and model it in all its complexity, and to understand construction sequencing of underground projects
• Energetic, proactive, reliable team player with excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of customer service principles and working closely with Contractors

About The Team

Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) of Applied Machine Learning (AML) team combines system engineering and the art of machine learning to develop and run massively distributed recommendation system around the world.

On the SRE team, you'll have the opportunity to sharpen your expertise in coding, performance analysis and large system operation, and get heavily involved in the process of hardware/capacity decision-making. SRE ensures that the very centric machine learning services at TikTok have the highest level of availability, as well as creating highly automated systems and pipelines.

Responsibilities

- Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialised utility programs.

Qualifications

The Distributed Storage team is at the forefront of designing and developing innovative distributed storage systems. Qualifications

What you should have:

- Familiar with C++/Golang/Java/Python program development (at least one), pursue high-quality code and focus on code engineering quality;

- Familiar with Linux system, with high proficiency in multi-threading, network programming, and distributed development in any programming language;

- Strong understanding of storage system principles, proficient in key technologies of distributed storage and computing, and possess practical experience with them;

- Good at independent thinking, able to find problems proactively, and have systematic problem analysis and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Familiar with large-scale distributed storage system design and implementation, such as HDFS / Ceph / S3 / OSS / EBS;

- Contributor/Committer of the open-source community is a plus.

About the Team

The Observability team supports various core business lines within TikTok, as well as external enterprise customers through Volcano Engine. It focuses on solving big data architecture challenges for a 100+PB level data set to create an industry-leading big data infrastructure. In addition, the team provides cloud-native real-time data lake and data warehouse services to business customers through its Cloud Monitor product.

As part of the Observability team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with teams to build the industry-leading observability data engine & platform to reach both stability, and scalability goals and achieve a better user experience.

What you will be doing:

1. Design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructures and pipelines;

2. Design data models and extract the information and signals for observability functionalities (e.g. Service health reporting, root cause analysis);

3. Work closely with product managers to deliver industry-leading observability products;

4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and software engineers, to understand data requirements and implement effective solutions.

Qualifications

What you should have:

- Bachelor or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field;

- At least 5 years in software engineering and 1 year of relevant experience in the Observability field;

- Experience in Observability technologies(metrics, tracing , logging and Alarm, page duty, root cause analysis);

- Skilled in SQL and at least one programming language of Go, Java, Scala, Python;
