The Opportunity

The role of Medical Sales/Key Account Executive is an integral part of the team. It’s the representative to our customers in both the clinic as well as the hospital settings throughout Singapore.

The Singapore Gastric Cancer Consortium (SGCC) is a translational research group comprising clinicians and scientists working in gastric cancer research. The group aims to solve important clinical questions to improve the care of gastric cancer patients, facilitated by close interaction between clinicians and scientists, and with synergism that enables biologic discoveries in the laboratory to be validated in the clinical setting.

Our research theme, “Bringing Discoveries to Patients” was awarded the Open Fund - Large Collaborative Grant by the National Medical Research Council in 2019. About the Role

To augment our manpower resources in the School, we are looking for a suitably qualified candidate to join our Academic Programmes Office (APO).

Reporting to the Head of Graduate and Special Programmes, the incumbent shall build and preserve trusting relationships with students (current & prospective), alumni and valued partners (faculty & industry). The candidate must be creative and driven in building and maintaining the University’s positive image to our internal and external stakeholders and drive a wide range of administration duties to support the smooth functioning of APO.

This role is offered on a 3-year renewable contract basis in the first instance, with the prospect of a regular open employment contract thereafter subject to satisfactory job performance during the first 3 years.

Remuneration is based on a 12-month salary structure, with annual variable bonus subject to the incumbent’s performance and the University/School’s prevailing remuneration policies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Academic Programmes Development

• Secretariat support to programme development/working committees and accreditation committees
• Liaison work with Ministry of Education, NUS community, Polytechnics, and other relevant institutions/organizations
• Marketing and operational follow-through (i.e. processes and systems)
• Promote high-quality customer service processes. Understand customer needs and develop plans to address them.

Academic Programme Support and Financials

• System support (from the business user’s viewpoint) to maintain existing or launch new degree programmes

• Support programme delivery such as programme staffing from nomination to engagement, class scheduling, module registration and examination matters (scheduling/invigilation/logistics planning/present required data at the Board of Examiners).

• Fee reviews for existing and new programmes.
• Assist in student financial advisory and programme quality assurance activities.
• Revenue model design and maintenance for programme partnerships

Engagement

• Plan, coordinate and organize events/ activities to support the School’s alumni outreach objectives and priorities.
• Identify new industry partners and work closely with existing industry partners to solicit mutually benefitting projects for sponsor companies and students.
• Manage the process of assigning industry projects to students.
• Participate in outreach and networking events, and support communication/marketing initiatives.

General duties

Requirements:

Academic & Professional Certification

• At least a good bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a reputable university
• Strong English language proficiency is essential and proficiency in Mandarin will be an advantage to attend to Mandarin speaking clients locally and in the region
• IT savvy and proficient in MS Office applications

The overarching aim of the lab is to understand the developmental origins of health and disease (DOHaD) and translate it into meaningful clinical insights. Using data collected from multiple longitudinal birth cohorts, we utilize rigorous statistical methods including growth modelling (mixed effects models, various parametric and non-parametric models, etc.), mixture modelling (quantile g-computation, etc.), causal inference, machine learning, and multi-omics analysis.

Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for research assistant/associates in the Multimodal Neuroimaging in Neuropsychiatric Disorders Laboratory (MNNDL), Centre for Sleep and Cognition, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The MNNDL group at NUS studies the human neural bases of cognitive functions and the associated vulnerability patterns in aging and neuropsychiatric disorders using multimodal neuroimaging and psychophysical techniques. We are interested in the large-scale brain structural and functional networks in healthy developing and aging brain and symptoms-related changes in diseases such as neurodegenerative disorders and psychosis. Statistical, computational, and machine learning methods are developed to analyze and fuse multimodal neuroimaging data. By integrating longitudinal behavior, neuroimaging, and genotype data, our long-term goal is to investigate the interactions among brain network dynamics, behavior, diseases, and genotypes to develop non-invasive biomarkers for early detection, differential diagnosis, progression monitoring, and treatment design.

Key attractions are access to a high-performance computing cluster, two 3T Prisma MR scanner and a MR compatible digital EEG system as well as collaboration opportunities with an excellent network of domestic and international scientists and doctors. Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant (RA) will work closely with the Principal Investigator, lab members, and collaborators to ensure successful completion of research projects (including neuroimaging, behavioral, and digital tracking experiments), smooth operation of computing and neuroimaging equipment, and efficient management of neuroimaging database in the lab.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The research assistant will support the effort in conducting cutting-edge neuroscience and machine learning research and development. He/she has the opportunity to learn state-of-the-art neuroimaging techniques, data collection and analysis, with healthy participants and patients with neuropsychiatric diseases. He/she will be primarily engaged in all neuroimaging and behavioral experiments such as subject recruitment, behavioral testing, digital tracking, image data collection, and data analysis. He/she will also support computing server/storage administration (with support from external vendors), neuroimaging equipment maintenance, and general lab administration like website. He/she will also be able to learn how to conduct fMRI scans with EEG recording, interactions with patients, quality control, behavioural assessments, neuroimage processing using automatic or semi-automatic scripts, and implications in neuroscience and disease. The research assistant is expected to learn neuroimaging softwares and assist researchers in IRB application, data preprocessing and database management in various research projects. He/she will be exposed to ongoing research work in machine learning and statistical analysis in the context of neuroimaging, cognitive neuroscience, and neuropsychiatric disorders. The research assistant/associate will have the opportunity to liaise and work with other clinical collaborators across the institutes/hospitals in Singapore on research projects and contribute to the presentations and publications of research work. He/she will assist with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the principal investigator. He/she is expected to maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree with neuroscience/psychology/life science/engineering/computing background with strong interest to learn
