Requirements

• Handle full set of accounts
• Handle Client & Office accounts matter management, and cleansing, in accordance with UK Solicitors Accounts Rules.
• To review client matter ledgers, clear and close matters that are finished, and assist with clearing down balances before archiving of any physical files/documents and sending to storage.
• Batch posting receipts, payments, petty cash, and processing of financial multi-currency transactions, including office and client account transactions in accordance with UK Solicitors Accounts Rules and practice procedures. These will be done on dual systems due to the implementation of a new practice management system.
• Book-keeping, reviewing nominal accounts, posting journals, review, checking and payment of expenses etc. Clearing any outstanding items on the bank reconciliation.
• Maintain Supplier ledger- input invoices, credit notes and making payments.
• Maintain the Counsels Experts ledger and processing of professional disbursements for local and international experts.
• Weekly / monthly reconciliations of client ledgers, and monitoring of SAR Breaches.
• Calculation of client interest and sending payments to clients.
• Liaising with auditors as and when required and providing information on request.
• Assist with credit control, liaise with Fee Earners and clients with regard to collecting any outstanding debts that maybe overdue.

Requirements:

• Diploma/ Degree in Accountancy or its equivalent
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience
• Experience working in Law firm is a plus
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Analytical, understanding of ledger or accounts information and relaying competently to legal and support staff.
• Good spoken and written English
• Pleasant personality, confident & Meticulous.
• Should be a self-starter and a good team player
• Proficient in MS Excel, Words and Outlook
• Experience in Aderant Expert practice management system is a plus.
• Candidates with lesser experience will be considered at Associate Level.
