The Embassy is recruiting a pro-active and open-minded Consular & Visa Officer (CW2) with a strong sense of accuracy and attention to detail.
Applicant must have a valid residence status in Singapore.
The post is ONLY open for Danish and EU/Schengen country nationals.
You will be working in a team of highly dedicated and professional colleagues. The main tasks of the Consular Section are handling of Schengen visa applications and residence permit applications, as well as providing consular assistance to Danish nationals and nationals with residence permit in Denmark.
As a Consular & Visa Officer (CW2), you will be responsible for all steps of the visa case processing. The work involves handling and prioritizing many different visa cases on a daily basis, keeping up to date with key legislation, and sparring with colleagues.
You are expected to show the flexibility required for an optimal handling of the entire portfolio of the Embassy and be ready to contribute to handling tasks outside your own portfolio.
Main tasks and responsibilities as Consular & Visa Officer
· Examination of Schengen visa and residence permit applications, incl. required documentation, and interviewing of applicants
· Registering of applications in relevant IT systems
· Final case processing, incl. responsibility for deciding on approvals, refusals and submission cases
· Attending phone calls and written correspondences with applicants, as well as handling the Embassy phone and reception
· Contact to the Danish Immigration Service and other relevant stakeholders/authorities
· General consular assistance to Danish nationals and nationals with residence permit in Denmark, incl. passport applications and minor translations
· Keep apprised of changes to instructions for visas and passports, and update checklists and best practices accordingly
· Ongoing follow-up of rules and regulations to help ensure compliance within the consular area
Competencies:
· Education: Relevant public administration, language, social science, political or trade related background, preferably at bachelor level. A combination of extensive work experience with relevant education will be considered
· Experience: Applicants should have at least 5 years of working experience
· Language Requirements: Excellent command of written and spoken English - as well as Danish or another Nordic language
· Due to the visa authorisation applicant must be EU/Schengen national
· An analytical mind, strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work independently as well a team player
· Excellent service-minded approach towards Embassy clients
· Ability to work under pressure
· Display sensitivity and adaptability to culture, gender, religion, race, nationality and age
· Experience with consular service is an advantage but not a requirement
