The Legal Department provides high quality legal advice, transactional advice, regulatory advice, litigation oversight and advice on compliance and reputational issues. Our goal is to help our businesses complete their transactions and understand and weigh the risks associated with our activities. In many cases, our lawyers, along with other professionals, assist the business areas in structuring transactions in order to capitalize on business opportunities while optimizing risk. The Legal Department maintains offices in New York and most other major financial centers around the world. The Legal Department is organized into practice groups that provide dedicated service to the firm’s various businesses.
ABOUT THE TREASURY LEGAL GROUP
The Legal Department is organized into practice groups that provide dedicated service to the firm’s various businesses. The Treasury Legal group in US provides legal support to The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., the parent company of Goldman Sachs. The Treasury Legal group in Singapore provides legal support to APAC entities located in various jurisdictions (including China, HK, Japan, and India). Globally, the group has a major presence in the New York office and London office.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As an analyst in the Treasury Legal group, you will work closely with business professionals across the firm, as well as with outside counsel. Your responsibilities will include:
- Working with Goldman Sachs sales and trading desks, both in APAC and internationally, to prepare offering documents for structured products and develop new structured products
- Working with the firm’s Corporate Treasury group on treasury activities for the firm, including debt and preferred stock offerings, bank loans, dividend payments, secured funding and guarantees
- Working with the firm’s Financial Reporting, Corporate Communications and Investor Relations groups to prepare periodic regulatory filings in various jurisdictions including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and Japan.
You may also be involved in a wide variety of projects involving:
- Transactional advice
- Regulatory advice, including advising on cross-border transactions, selling products under different market regimes (China, Japan, Taiwan, Korea and other APAC jurisdictions)
- General legal advisory services, including frequent coordination with outside counsel
- Documentation review
- Negotiation
- Advice on compliance and reputational issues.
WHO CAN APPLY
- Bachelor's degree required
- Recent college / university graduates with up to 2 years of work experience
- Corporate law firm paralegal experience a plus.
